The only reason to eat here is because of the reputation, but choose your time, because it can be crowded, with both staring customers and beggars! Seating is on the pavement on a first come first served - fight for your right!

This is a great local gem. My wife and I wanted to try some of the local food so we ordered 2 falafel and two large bottles of water (2.5 JD for everything). This was the cheapest and best meal we had in Aqaba. The thing I find the most interesting is that there was no meat in the sandwich and it was amazing! We didn't see anywhere to sit so we walked back to our hotel and ate there. The people were very nice as they helped us make sense of the menu. I recommend that when you go there to tell them you want a sandwich...they will know what you mean . BTW it doesn't open until 6pm. I hope this is helpful for someone.

Popular locals food joint for hummus , falafel, and fuul (bean dip). Simple, solid, cheap. Pair with either a tea (as locals do) or a juice drink and those three dishes will fill two people up for 5jd. Recommended as part of the more authentic experience, rather than the other tourist oriented Ali baba or other places that typically try to wrangle people in by hassling them with "welcome, hello, come sit."

Tip: we got shafted as tourists , they gave us standard pita bread cut into quarters, while the locals got a full round flat bread that tastes better (we know, we've been to the original hashem's in Amman). Point at another table's bread and make sure you're getting that type. Despite that, we'd still recommend this place.

This is a great place to get falafel. A sit and go type of place with flavorful mezze. Ask the waiter to flame-char the bread.

the essence of falafel can be captured here; through the ambience, the locals, the service and through the food itself.
the falafel was fresh, we were given two to taste before ordering, as is customary. We ordered it wrapped in Khubbus and some on the side.
Tasted better than any other falafel we had during our trip.
