DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Aqaba
Ranked #5 of 41 Hotels in Aqaba
Reviewed February 6, 2013

Stayed for one week in January, although a business style hotel equally convenient for a leisure stay like ours with great facilities. Clean, nice rooms ; beds very comfy, quick elevators. The hotel was centrally heated at this time of year and rooms could not be controlled in the room (too warm!) along with down feather duvets making the nights unbearably hot. Luckily we could keep the window open only to be kept awake by honking drivers passing by all evenings and early am minarets callings...
Nevertheless, food outlets were of good standard, although service could be slow in some areas. One great service was the free shuttle service to a private beach club with ample space and facilities. The hotel has a great city locaition, 5 min. from shoreline in Aqaba. Only downside is the cigarette smoke in all public areas, including resturants.

Room Tip: Remember t0 ask for a room och non-smoking floor if you´re not a smoker!

Really nice hotel, will absolutely recommend for a stay in Aqaba. All the staff did their very best to keep us in a good mood. The pool was terrific but cold in january... on the other hand the drinks in the poolbar "warmed up" pretty well. The service with the bus shuttle to the beachclub was perfect, we loved that possibility.
We had great food all the time, and there was a good varity on the meals in the restaurants and of course great service everywere.
The hotels location was perfect for a "small" town as Aqaba, you could get "everywere" by foot if you like. The shopping is what it is in the souk, not that much to buy but very friendly staff also in the shops. And we can really recommend a visit in the areas "outside" the tourist area in the souk, in the areas were the locals live their lives. Friendly people everywere!
We will go back to Jordan thats for sure!

The room were very clean bed was very comfortable nice hot shower. I down side is there is so much control here. Your not allow to take a beer from outside the hotel to your room I understand places want and need to make money but come on. I think that in your room you should be able to drink or eat anything you buy and bring in. Please also dont take them up on their privet beach its very nice but your trapped there for six hours and food and drink prices are insane 7.00 USD for a 333 ml beer its just feels like your being robbed.. So maybe Im cheap but I cant stand to be taking advantage of.. So if you dont mind paying crazy prices then you will love it..Like I said it is very nice..

I very good hotel located in the city center of Aqaba, 10 min walk from the beach. Service, rooms and cleaning was exellent, the breakfast was good, with fresh juice and very good coffee! The hotel has also a small cafe and two restaurants for dinner, the Kings Grill here is recommended. And try the jordanian ecological wines, Saint George!! The small pool area was compensated by the free bus and entrance to a very nice beach club near Tala Bay. Her was free towels, pools, beach were you can swim and dive to see colorful fishes by the corals, a small cafeteria with food and drinks.
Near by the hotel there are small local shops, spa and different restaurants with fish and local food.

Room Tip: We paid extra for balcony, but this was on the north side and with no sun or view. So if you want th...

We stayed at the Double Tree during the New year's eve, and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay, well recommended, staff were very friendly and helpful in everyway, the hotel has a very good location, within walking distance to all places ( beach shops, restaurants...etc).
The minuses were: drinks were very expensive, paper cups for tea/ coffee, which I never expected from a 5 * hotel, the night time buffet wasn't up to standard, not a lot of varieties.
We didn't get our cookies on arrival, but I mentioned it when we checked out, and they gave us some there and then.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view
