“Nice hotel in a great location”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

I stayed for two nights here and had a wonderful stay. The staff were pleasant and friendly but never did quite follow up with the problem that I had with my HH membership. Upon my check out they said they would be following up and notify me but instead I never heard from them. I then solved the problem by contacting the HH admin myself.

Hotel is very well located close to the main Aqaba street which is full of restaurants, shops, diving centre, money changers etc. Wi Fi is also available at the lobby. They also provide free transfer to the bus station upon your check out. (it is not really that far anyway)

The room is adequately big and clean with modern amenities. Toilet condition was good. Breakfast was generally fine. Would love to stay here again in the future.

A lovely hotel for our final night in Jordan. On arrival we were given a fantastically delicious cookie whilst waiting for our room number. The atrium is stunning and I have attached a photo. The room was large and comfortable with plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. The hotel is in a very good location just a short walk from the beach and bazaars.
HOWEVER, I was kept awake for most of the night by the most horrendous humming noise coming from machinery on the roof. It went off for a few hours in the middle of the night but then started up again in the early hours. I didn't feel it was worth phoning reception as I didn't want to change rooms at that late hour, plus my partner slept through it all. When I mentioned it to the Guest Relations manager the next morning he was sympathetic and I have also received a very nice email from the General Manager saying that very few, or indeed no, guests have mentioned it before. This I find astonishing. I really do think that this room should not be in use as the noise was unbearable as I tried harder and harder to get to sleep.
We found the buffet dinner disappointing as it was not hot and there was very little food left when we arrived. After dinner we wanted to sit somewhere for a drink but could find nowhere except by the pool upstairs which wasn't very comfortable. In the end we went to the Movenpick down the road which had bars aplenty.
However the staff were very pleasant, as indeed we found the majority of people in Jordan, and service was efficient and friendly. Such a shame that our stay was spoiled by something which really shouldn't have been allowed to happen.

Room Tip: Stay away from 607 or adjoining rooms if you want to sleep!

We are glad that the hotel, its services, rooms and facilities were up to your liking and expectations. It is of delight to know that you have enjoyed our signature DoubleTree chocolate chip walnut cookie that you received upon your check it.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the sleep inconveniences you had experienced due to the noise that the hotel’s machinery on top of our roof were producing, and as mentioned in my e-mail, sent to you earlier this month, rest assured that we have went through your comments extensively with our Chief Engineer in order to follow-up on your comments and to look for solutions to prevent this from re-occurrence to any of our other guests in the future.

In regards to your comment about your dinner experience, be assured that your comments have been conveyed to our Head Chef who will be following up on them to prevent them from reoccurrence.

It is worth to note that, other than the pool bar, the hotel also has another outlet, d lounge, where you can enjoy a drink along with a live band performance and DJ music.

DoubleTree by Hilton Aqaba family looks forward to welcoming you again, with a cookie, in the near future.

During my travel, I stayed in lots of good hotel, but DoubleTree is just super!
The reception is super friendly and helpful when we are checking in. (Also, the welcome cooky is really delicious)The room and bed is really really comfortable and make me sleep really well.
The private beach is cozy with few tourist and make beach even better.
Hotel breakfast is super (with fresh orange juice). Not to mentioned there is free wifi in the public area of hotel. (although somewhat inconvenient in the room).
Location is almost the center of Aqaba, not to mention the price is friendly. I even extend my stay.
Strongly recommend to stay with DoubleTree.

Stayed 2 nights as part of packaged tour. Lovely room, let down by paper cups for use with the kettle (though we got ceramic mugs when we asked). Huge bathroom with his-n-hers washbasins and choise of two showers.

Infinity pool terrace is delightful, what a pity it does not open till 10am so no pre-breakfast swim or sunny relaxing (it's the hotel's only outdoor space).

Free wifi only in public spaces so I spent time in foyer or basement (not that nice terrace in early morning). Staff helpful. Breakfast buffet splendid (Um Alli recommended, and the best orange juice on the tour).

Perfect location, close to the market and restaurants, and if you want to go to the southern shore where most snorkeling/diving happens you can take the hotel shuttle which leaves every hour.

When you enter they welcome you with a warm cookie, it is the best cookie I ever had.

The room was great, there's everything you need in it and it was clean and comfy, the view was horrible though (not sea view).

You get more than what you pay for.
