We chose to come to Jordan mainly for diving purposes and struggled to chose which company to go with. We were delighted to have chosen Aqaba Adventure divers as the dive sites were fab (we saw everything from a turtles, blus spotted eagle ray and a couple of octopi!) Talal was a fantastic manager who was only willing to help even organising us affordable taxi's too and from Aqaba. The pool is much better than the other companies around and it is in an idillic location for sunbathing and sunset. the rooms were a good size and they are happy for you to make use of the fridge they provide. Very relaxed, welcoming and professional company- thank you for a great stay!

the rooms are simple but spacious and have a refrigerator.
internet is available, bathrooms are very simple but functional and clean.
the hotel/guest house has a large pool at it´s center - all rooms are located around this pool.
from the pool area and many rooms you have a nice view towards the red sea (gulf of aqaba) and the mountains on the egyptian side (Sinai). expect spectacular sunsets!

the food is very basic and breakfast could be served with more choices.
it´s nice to have a water pipe in the evenings on the terrace overlooking the valley/red sea.

i got a food poisoning from a pasta carbonara - just eat sandwiches and soups to be safe.
hotel owner organized medicine from a pharmacy in the city but i had to pay the taxi and medicine.

the diving was great but some spots on the red sea are quite damaged from careless divers or plastic litter in the water.

i rented all equipment and the prices where reasonable.

the guest house/hotel is about 10 km away from Aqaba city and you need to take taxi if you want to go out or for dinner.

in all it was a nice experience and a very tranquil environment with easy to go mode - can recommend the place - good value for your money but try and eat elsewhere.

My girl's friends and I just came back from a trip from Egypt and we took a boat over to Ababa, Jordan to spend 3 days of relaxation. We love shop and Aqaba is definitely the place to do it, Aqaba is the Istanbul of Turkey. As we were walking down the shopping strip, a shop keeper name Ibrahim offered us some tea. He told us "we won't find this tea anywhere". He makes it by hand and if we like the tea to come in and try the spices, oils, blends of tea and much more. He gives us some chair to sit-down, and then shows us all the wonderful smelling spices, teas, dressed, scarves, and oils. Some of these spices and teas I can't even find in India. I bought some spices and some oils, especially the amber bar, it last a long time. Jane bought a really pretty dress from him. The dress was so unique and elegant, it was gorgeous on her. It was a color none of us would expect to work on her. Elizabeth bought a couple of beautiful scarves and Ibrahim showed us the proper way to but a scarf on our heads. Thank you we were looking ridiculous trying to do it ourselves. This shop keeper really knows his stuff. Afterwards we have another cup of wonderful tea, which is Jordanian hospitality. We got to know some history about Jordan and got some great suggestions on what to do while we are in Jordan. Thank you Al Baba Spice shop for your great tea, your awesome spices and oils and wonderful hospitality. If you are spending any time in Aqaba, you should make a point at stopping at the Al Baba Spices. It’s a blast.
