I booked through a BnB website that the hotel in the pricing failed to take into account the busy Eid holiday week. When we arrived they double the confirmed price. They were very apologetic but at least they held the reservation . Eid is a week holiday in Muslim countries when all governmental offices close hence everyone travels! By mutual agreement we stayed one night instead of two and let them have to room to rent at the higher vacation prices.
The facility is modern with a great diving/snokeling reef just across the road. Meals are reasonable and prepared fresh.
The photo is of the very expensive $ 350 USD goat that is sacrificed on Eid and the meat donated to the Mosque for the needy.

Our first night, we stayed in Aqaba proper, which was great because we got to know the town a little better. It was kind of noisy, but we found all amenities that we would need. Our second night was here at the Darna Beach Hotel. It is out of the city, and a whole lot quieter if you value your sleep. The owners come off as being a little gruff, but just under that rough exterior, these people have hearts of gold, and wish you to be happy, and try hard to serve you well. We enjoyed our stay, enjoyed interacting with the staff and would stay here again. We did find the mattress quite hard in our room, but the quiet and the dark that is available in this setting contributed well to a great sleep, which is necessary when travelling, or diving.

My boyfriend and I spent two nights at Darna Village and wished we could have stayed longer. We had a really comfortable room with a good shower, fridge and, best of all, views of the Red Sea. The staff at Darna are fantastic - super friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed wathcing the football with them, crowded round a tiny TV. The place is pretty isolated but it has a decent restaurant which is reasonably priced and drinks and snacks available to buy too. The only slight let down was the state of the beach - the sea was crystal clear and beautiful but the beach was littered with cigarettes and other rubbish which is a real shame.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

Darna village beach hostel is 12km away from the city centre of Aqaba. We didn't have a feeling we were very welcome. Every time we asked for something ( for example: when we had a problem with the aircondition , there came water out, or just when we asked for something to drink) the told us how long we had to wait. Multiply that with 4 and thats how long you really have to wait for something..
The rooms were very clean and quiet, but we didn't had any drop of water in the morning.
The beach in front of the hotel is really nice, so is the swimming pool.

I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. I didn't like the city of Aqaba to much, but this hotel at Southbeach was great! The room was pretty cheap and very clean. The manager from the hotel was very friendly and I had some nice chats with him. There's a nice clean pool where you can take a dive in when it's really hot. I also did some nice diving, which was also very cheap.

This was mine and stephanies first stop when crossing over from Eilat. We had a really great time here, the rooms are clean and quiet, even though the hotel is situated right on a freeway. The beach is just across the street from a very nice beach with plenty of reef. The owners were awesome and got us a taxi to take us up to Petra. Overall was a great experience, highly recommend.

We only stayed one night here but the staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was included and it was ok except for the boiled egg that had a totally grey color inside. So be careful what you eat here. And remember that taxi's to town should not cost more than 5-6 JD. The drivers will try to get more from you if you let them.
