“Wonderful Staff and Great Location”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

This is a lovely hotel with excellent staff. However there are good points and, whilst I would not say "bad" points, they are not so good points. We travelled as two couples and one person made the booking. Some weeks after the original booking, we were contacted to say that as it was the Eid holiday we had to pay for the 4 night stay in full. I questioned this and was told it was policy, despite pointing out that there was nothing in the Terms and Conditions. I received a reply that they had taken the first night's charge for both rooms as per the Cancellation clause as it was less than 72 hours prior, despite the fact that there had been no cancellation. One of the other party then contacted the bookings dept and also the General Manager and was reassured that the rooms had not been cancelled.
When we arrived, the welcome was very good. The other couple who had contacted the General Manager was upgraded to a suite ( which was beautiful, and they were celebrating their anniversary so this was a lovely gesture for them). We were told that we had been upgraded to an executive room but in reality I believe that we were in the room that had been booked. It was also a beautiful room and very comfortable and I have no complaints and the staff were extremely attentive throughout the stay.

The staff were amazing at this hotel, catering to all our needs. Any time we contacted housekeeping for towels, ice, iron and board, they arrived within minutes and this was immediately followed up with a telephone call to check that they had arrived. The only problem was that every day after our room had been cleaned either towels or bath mats hadn't been left in the room and so we had to call for them.

The food was extremely good with a huge variety and they were able to cater well for a gluten free diet. There is a large staff and all the management staff were visible and hands on at all times which was very impressive.

Lastly, probably due to the fact that it was a peak holiday period, there were not enough loungers either by the pool or on the beach although there was a plentiful supply of good quality towels. We dropped our camera on the beach one day and it was returned to us before we even knew that we had lost it which was pretty impressive.

All in all I would definitely return to this hotel.

This hotel has to be in the best position in Aqaba. The beach is man made and is quite small but kept very clean by the lifeguards on duty. There are lovely swimming pools. There are plenty of comfortable sunbeds. However, the beach restaurant is very small and can't accommodate all people wanting to eat at lunchtime.
The rooms, ask for a Delux room, overlook the sea and swimming pools and are beautifully light and airy with a balcony. Bathrooms have good rain showers and there is everything that you should need.
The best restaurant is The Fish Inn but it is pricey. There is a buffet but we found the food to be tepid and therefore unappealing. Wine is very expensive as is water - double the price of outside which is ridiculous.
The only negative is that in some places in the hotel is not consistent with its five star rating.

Perfect location within Aqaba. Stylish hotel with Great rooms with wonderful views over sea and pool area.Attentive staff,Special mention for Jordan who worked around the pools area and was really helpful not just with us but we noticed he also went out of his way to help others too. Shame there's no wifi in rooms. Ridiculous price of drinking water....almost 6JD for a bottle when outside the hotel it's 1JD.5 star hotels should provide drinking water either free or a nominal charge and it's not something we've come across before ....sister hotel in the Dead Sea made no charge for water and this did irritate us as just doesn't seem right

High class hotel,as of Kempinsky tradition. Location is ideal, all rooms have wonderful views on Red Sea and Sinai, with a balcony where you can enjoy to watch dramatic sunset from. Service is professional, but a little cool. What is really astonishing is the great design and lay out ,soberly elegant and minimalist at the same time. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Furnishing colors move to white, giving a pleasant sensation of relaxation. Great breakfast in quality and variety :you can find whatever food you want.To improve wifi functionality: signal is low especially in the room.

Stayed here two nights during Jordan trip in October 2013. Best hotel I've stayed in for a while and genuinely worthy of 5 stars. Excellent and well appointed rooms with great views. Staff all very helpful and good breakfasts. Only thing is that WiFi didn't work in the rooms and so you had to go down to lobby to use it.

Want a room with a view... it doesn't get much better than this! Great hotel. The rooms are generously large, loads of closet space, plush, and simply awesome. Staff at the front desk are excellent at their job. This hotel more than 'fit the bill" for my 2 night stay. YES! will absolutely go revisit this hotel.
