Based on reviews on Tripadvisor and testimonials from friends, we wanted to end our Jordan holiday with a heigh, but it did not turn out this way.
What we liked was the reception service (esp. from the Serbia lady), the rooms, swimming pool and breakfast (except missing fresh orange juice!). Overall the building is nice.
However the white sun cubicles on the beach were crap (aluminium bars to create shade could not be locked (and hence dangerous to hit your head due to the wind) or were missing), the towels were very used. Also, the service in Lounge bar was amateuristic (slow, dropped 2 glasses, took 15 mins to clean up, was poorly cleaned) and the food prices versus quality totally out of proportion. The view was not great given a building site on the right. The beach is basic and not comparable with e.g; Berenice out of town where you go snorkling.
A 5 star hotel should give 5 star experience at every touchpoint else it becomes irrelevant. This hotel gave me the impression to have become a hierarchical institution that thinks that status of building and brand name is sufficient but then lost its touch with the customers.
