Friends who had visited Aqaba previously, had recommended we stay in Tala Bay if we were going to snorkel. The extra 11km of driving from downtown Aqaba to Tala Bay was well worth it.

The hotel was clean and staff were courteous. The hotel even upgraded our room to a suite. The grounds are lovely with great views of the bay and mountains and 3-4 pools. The breakfast and dinner buffets were good and quite extensive. Heat Wave, the on-site restaurant, was Indian/Thai, which was a nice break from Arabic food (we love Arabic food, but live in the area and sometimes want something different). However, the customer service at Heat Wave, while courteous, was painfully slow.

The only two small irritations at the hotel were the air conditioning and the time spent waiting for the shower to heat up. Be aware that if you open your patio door, even for a moment, the a/c will shut off and you will have to reset it--a little inconvenient, but we understand why the hotel has the system in place. The other issue was waiting for the shower to heat up--it literally took more than five minutes for the water to warm up--simply because the hotel isn't using solar heaters but a system located in one area of the property. If you are at the opposite end, you will wait a long time. But enough with the hotel.

The true reason people come is to snorkel or scuba dive and if that is what you are after, you have come to a great place. People say the Red Sea is amazing and they were right. If it's snorkeling you want, the hotel has a 25-foot jetty on its private beach. You can dive off the end and be in approximately 12 feet of water and see some of the most amazing fish--puffer, lion, eel, and schools of others. We couldn't believe how many different fish were swimming around us. The kids got on their boogie boards and looked down through the water and the older kids could hold their own at those depths. There is even a boulder located about 15 feet from shore and if you just float and watch, you will see some amazing fish. The coral is beautiful, but the environment has kind of run its toll in the area.

While others have said that they faced peering eyes while at the hotel, our group didn't face any of that. We weren't wearing Burkinis and didn't face any disrespectful behavior.

We will definitely return.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for staying with us and for sharing such a wonderful review on tripadvisor, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and you recognized the excellent level of cleanliness at our Resort, friendliness of our employees, quality of our Food & Beverage offers.

It is true we have this system, if you open your balcony door the AC will not cool anymore and you will need to close the balcony door to run the cooling unit again. Actually this information is visible for our guests in the rooms and this is part of our Responsible Business and energy saving.

Hot water as well it takes like a minute or two to get hot water when you open the tap, our premises is 60,000 SQM and the hot water will take few minutes to reach the room when you open the tap but I really apologize if this matter caused any inconvenience to you.

Thank you very much for explaining in such detailed way, how beautiful is snorkeling and diving in our area.

It is nice to hear as well that you recognized, we are safe Resort for female guests and no one will bother them if they wear bikini at our beach and pools.

Looking forward for your next visit.

Although we are not normally fans of big hotels, the Radisson is well designed with a long beachfront - this gives a nice spacious feel to the resort. Room was not especially large but had eveything you need, and the breakfast was really excellent - huge buffet but fresh. The dinner options were a little more disappointing - the thai restaurant was very friendly but the food lacked flavour, whilst the buffet was a decent selection but not on a par with breakfast. However, it encouraged us to find some great local restaurants in town. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay, especially the reception staff.

I have traveled quite extensively and I was disappointed enough in my first night at this property that I left and went elsewhere. I am a married Canadian woman who was traveling to Aqaba with a female friend. I currently live and work in Amman.
The initial reception and check-in service was excellent. The man who showed us to our room was kind and professional. (It was very challenging to get an honest taxi driver to take us to the hotel...from downtown, do not pay more than 5JD). We arrived in time to eat a late supper and we were shocked at the poor quality of the overpriced food we ordered at Heat Wave. We went to our room after walking the very lovely property. The room was quite small and unexciting with a very small shower and dimly lit bathroom, no bathtub. The bed was comfortable.
In the morning, we attended the included buffet breakfast, which was very good, as was the service at breakfast.
We then tried to head to the pool and beach. This is where our trip really fell apart. There were almost no foreigners at the hotel. There were an abundance of families and groups of men. None of the women were in western beach clothing, so if you are planning to swim or enjoy the beach, and you are a western female, be prepared. Even when we tried to find a quiet corner to ourselves, guests were taking pictures of us without asking, were staring quite openly, and were whistling and harassing us. When I asked a man why he thought it was ok to talk to me the way he was, he said, "because of the way you look". I was wearing a sweater and a skirt below my knees, so draw your own conclusions.
We spoke to the lovely and helpful Anna at the Help Desk who understood our discomfort and called for permission from management for us to check out a day early. However, when we actually went to the checkout desk, a supervisor named Anas was extremely rude. He chastised us for leaving and not taking his suggestion of phoning the police instead. When he raised his voice substantially, I demanded his business card. He immediately stopped arguing with me and we paid the price for the one night we stayed and left the hotel.
We moved to another large well-known chain at the main beach in town, and had a wonderful remainder of our weekend.

Room Tip: I can't help you with this. We were told that we were upgraded, and while we had a nice view, the room was small and starting to show signs of age.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback and it is nice to hear that you liked some of our services.

We apologize for the incident you had at our Resort but again this is not under our control, this is the first time we receive such a complaint and we have many female guests are using our beach & 5 swimming pools without any issue.

You just reported the matter to us and did not want to tell us who was trying to take photo of you at our beach area, we could ask this person to leave immediately but we were not given the chance to deal with it.

In middle east some ladies are using Islamic swimming dress and some are dressing like Americans & Europeans. We are the biggest resort in Aqaba and we are hosting most of the foreign tourists coming to the city.

You had non refundable reservation and our Front Office Manager did not mean to be rude to you, he was just asking you to tell us who was taking photo of you without your permission, to ask him to leave.

I apologize again for any inconvenience.

Best regards,
