“Enjoyable week in Tala Bay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

We were in Tala Bay last November and this trip is one of our favorites so far. The hotel area felt and was very safe, it was just for turists and apparently waiting for its better times. Some things were odd. We got an apartment, so we had room enough. We did not make our food ourselves, but we were allowed to bring all kind of drinks or fruits with us, which was not allowed to them, who had only one room without kitchen corner. We enjoyed the breakfast and supper in the hotel restaurant. That was the best part of the week! The food was excellent, the philippinian waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The rooms vere quite oldfashioned, however. Both rooms had a tiny balcony, which did not give so much to enjoy, and we could only look to the inner pool yard. Weather in November was sunny but rather windy, so there was not much possibility for hot weather clothes. The hotel arranged minibus drives to the main city Aqaba, which was rather dirty at least on its bazaar streets. Personnel at the hotel was friendly, too, even though it seemed that some of them were very eager having flirt chats with women. The resort area was very clean, without any dogs or cats, but there was not so many shops as was written on the quide tables. We enjoyed also very much the very talented singer at the pool every night. Finnair flight was fine enough. The airport of Aqaba is poor and expensive; in the Aqaba city you can find anything in good price, although everything was not worth of buying.
We visited the famous Petra, too. It was an experience! But, for a day trip you surely need to use toilets, and the bus stop was there in the middle of anything, miserable building with eager sellers offering their junk to the visitors. I, however, found a silky scarf and went for paying it. I did not see anything odd happening, but when I opened my bag after returned to the hotel, I noticed that it was changed to a polyester scarf, coloured quite the one I had chosen. It is so easy to become cheated there!

Room Tip: If you like to see the sea, you have to ask for it. Otherwise you will only see hotel inhabitants at...

We stayed there in july (1 week) and august (1 week). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The animation around the pool is mostly for people up to 12 years old.
The private beach is perfect ( swimming pools and sea with fish and corails to watch.
For my hobby I can tell you that the sky is magnificient at night.
The free bus to Aqaba is the best way to visite Aqaba.
The breakfast is excellent ( plenty sorts of bread, croissants, pancakes, fruit, warm and cold dishes, tea, coffee, fruitjuice,yoghurt,...).
Dinner has every choice you need with every day another country ( belgian day, Jordan day,...
They have three pools at the hotel so in regard of the age of the kids you can choose one. For adults to swim: the pool at the beach club is better.
For me there was one minus point: the playground for kids is a little small but well located ( not to much sun).
The room was clean, large enough.
During our stay we had a sick child ( ear infection). The hotel deed everything to have a MD within 30 minutes. That doctor called us before coming and brought the medecine with him.

We stayed here for 1 night. It's in a bad location - but there's bus, that's the only good thing. The furniture in the rooms needed to be thrown out years ago. The general state of repair of the place is terrible. I don't know if they spend any money on maintenance at all. Breakfast was horrible.the food and beverage service is down. Couldn't wait to leave.

I am currently staying at this hotel. The hotel is not utilizing it's potential in comparison to near by hotels. The interior design is very poor and looks old. The rooms are not quit functional and no elevators. The pool side is very noisy with loud speakers all day long. The beach is far and no golf carts even for families with small kids or old people. The staff is very friendly but the service is quit poor. We asked for boiled water to prepare milk for the child and the hotel wanted to charge us for half a letter of boiled tap water. Not even a complementary bottle of water!! Over all it is rated as 4 star hotel but definitely it's leveled 3.stars at max in my opinion it is not value for money especially in high season

We stayed here in April as a group of four (two couples) for a few nights. Great hotel that's situated in a newly built up area of apartments, holiday homes, hotels and restaurants/bars. Hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the beach and provides clean beach towels every day.

Rooms are pretty basic but clean and tidy and not far from the main restaurant and swimming pool. The staff were friendly but not hugely aware of time, we spent 30 minutes waiting for clean towels when we were desperate to get to the beach but they were apologetic and sincere about the delay.

Breakfast was incredible. I have never seen the amount of good quality selection available, from continental to cold meats to fresh fruit & omelettes. There were freshly baked pastries and a good supply of tea and coffee served to your table.

Swimming pool was pretty small and crammed with kids but this wasn't a problem as we spent most of the time down on the beach.

Great stay, just added to our amazing time in Jordan. One of the best holidays I've ever had.

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed pretty well located and spacious.

The staff were really friendly some of them had actually remembered me from last year when i went with my family, so that was nice.. The shuttle bus from the city to the hotel is great and very convenient as the hotel is about 15 minutes away from downtown. The Spa manager was great, he had encouraged almost every one to participate in the aqua gym and had an amazing music for it... pool volley ball and ping pong were great too.. (though they need to buy a new rackets and a new table too :)

First! To my Hungarian friends: do not expect luxury & all inclusive in Jordan! Do not compare with other countires. They are not prepaired for this, but it is enough...
BUT: The hotel staff is very friendly, helpful with Hungarians, some of them speak our language! :)
The hotel is in very good location at Tala Bay. Better then in Aqaba!
The beach in Aqaba is very small and not private! Marina has big private beach with swimming pool! The rooms are clean, the food is good, half board is well enough!
Every dinner has someting special local food!
I really liked in the hotel, they have the local Jordan food, not the "international pizza [--]".
The main pool in the hotel is crowded by the locals especially in Friday-to-Sunday, BUT the Beach is empty! You know why? The people can not swim there! They are afraid of water! It was funny to see. :-)
So my tip: go directly to the beach, you will find lot of free space, out of crowd!
If you want snorkerling, and see more, go to the right on the beach side about 600-800 meters, till you reach the free beach. The corals are there... Wear swimming shoes!
We really enjoyed our holiday, there's a free shuttle bus to Aqaba center. It is enough to go in 2-3 times. Nothing much to see and do there, except shopping at bazaars. (avoid chineese market).
The Marina is a good place to relax. Go to trips to Petra, Dead See etc...

Room Tip: If you want a relaxing and quiet room, ask for NOT poolside.
