There were only 3 wild dogs present. I am sure the people at the conservation are doing a great job and they urn our support. Visit them and make a contribution to help save the painted dogs!

“Special, important and eductional”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

The people that work here are passionate and knowledgable. That shows in everything they do. From the impressive visitors centre to the rehabilitation centre and al the programs they have. They create awareness by involving the local community through may different aspects. This is done so well that this project stands out from many other conservation projects. Just go there I would say and experience the amazing world of the Painted Dogs and the people that try to save them.

Friendly staff showed us round the exhibits and then took us on the short walk (platform walk under renovation) to the holding area where three doge were present. Staff carrying out a good job in difficult times. No admission fee, donations requested.

“great work being done here”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

If you tour Zimbabwe this is a great place to see. They rescue Painted Dogs which have been trapped with cruel wire snares. Then they rehab them and fit them with a collar with a radio antenna so they can track them and metal band which helps the dogs escape from snare traps which catch them around the neck. They are endangered and ranchers kill them even though they are protected in parks. If you are lucky you can come across them on safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana. The antenna helps catch poachers as well.

“Great job”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

The Painted Dog Conservation display was very informative. We took the bridge walkway to the enclosure which was interesting, I kept hoping that the wooden slat's would hold our weight. The staff were very knowledge and explained the plan to help these animals. We saw two older dogs that were to old to be let back into the bush. This is a very worthwhile place to visit and support them in their work.
