I had the privelage of staying in this lodge during the filming of the big 5 series 2 in sept 2010 and I was blown away by this place. Absolutely beautiful views from every angle of the lodge, especially the inifinity pool. Great food and super friendly staff. I was very lucky to be able to stay here. I felt very well taken care of here.

Wow - from the animals to the exceptional setting in the Malilngwe Reserve; from the outstanding service to the stunning accommodations, Singita Pamushana was a perfect place for our first safari experience. Our group included 6 adults, 5 teenagers and 1 nine year old and we stayed for 3 nights, 4 days. It was plenty of time to see lots of wildlife, however we could have easily stayed for a few more nights without being bored since there is a beautiful infinity pool, a nice gym and game room and a spa as well. The food was terrific, the service was outstanding and the guides were kind, patient, knowledgeable and cautious enough so that we didn't feel scared while tracking elephants on foot in the bush. December is the rainy season, but the guides had ponchos, umbrellas and everything we needed to stay dry. What an adventure!

Room Tip: We stayed in a one bedroom villa which was massive.

Returning to Africa only four months after our last adventure, Pamushana was our first destination. Every single aspect of this place can be rated as superb. Our villa was so spacious, and the vista looking out over the water was just so peaceful!!!! Food was excellent. Staff were warm and welcoming. Truly the way all staff connected with us and were attuned to our every need made us feel so special! Emily was in charge while Jason was away and her efforts were remarkable. Jephat, our guide, shared his outstanding knowledge during game drives, including lessons on the night sky as part of late afternoon game drive. One "cranky rhino" and one upset elephant gave us an adrenalin thrill on two different occasions, but Jephat managed those situations so well. And professionally. Christmas Eve was beautiful. After game drive we didn't return to camp, but arrived to witness a truly magical sight. Tables complete with lanterns, christmas crackers and all were set up under a beautiful boab tree. A superbly prepared braa awaited the guests. On return to the lodge, we found Santa had left a gift on our pillow. What a special personal touch!!!!! After game drive on Christmas morning, the beautiful array of food just blew us away. Our chance to spend Christmas at Pamushana was just the best decision for us to begin our trip. We left feeling that it is certainly somewhere we could recommend to others. The hospitality and sense of welcoming are truly outstanding!!!!! Pamushana is definitely a place to which we would return with no hesitation at all.

Singita Pamushana in the Malilwange Game Reserve, Zimbabwe, is the finest property I have visited in 15 trips to Africa. This was our second visit to this property and we are working to book a third stay next year. It is an easy connection from JNB. Every aspect of this property warrants the highest ratings possible. The game viewing and guiding are amazing.

Our group consisted of two families (11 of us). We had two vehicles and two excellent guides – Jaffet and Mr. T. We had the thrill of watching a leopard successfully stalk and kill an impala before we raced off for a special "bush dinner" arranged by our hosts Jason and Emily.

The food throughout our stay was on par with a one star Michelin restaurant. The wine cellar is expertly managed by Emily. She pairs all the courses perfectly with outstanding South Africa wines from many different regions.

We also had the pleasure of dining one evening with noted wildlife cinema photographer Kim Wolhuter and his delightful bride Taryn. This was really a great chance to talk with a man that spends most of his life in the bush building relationship on foot and unarmed with these amazing animals. Kim's videos are some of the most original work done on cheetahs, painted dogs and hyena.

At the risk of getting the property manager Jason in trouble with his wife, I have to comment on his brand of "go jump in the lake service". Jason has taken this to a new level - He actually put on his wet suit and dove in the crocodile and hippo infested lake in order to retrieve my friend’s waterproof video camera that had dropped in during the previous days fishing tournament (20+ Talipia and 5 Tiger fish in two hours). No mention was made in advance – Jason just showed up after lunch and handed Chip his camera back. We were blown away by the literal "all in” service.

At Pamushana, even the trip back to the airstrip can be exciting! The guides noticed some alarm calls and quickly found a Cheetah mother with two cubs. She went into hunting mode and ultimately took off at full speed across a large open area and took down an impala. Unfortunately for her, a group of large male baboons took interest in her efforts and a stalemate took place with the dead impala just lying in the middle of the face off.

Pamushana is simply beyond words.

I spent 3 incredible days at Singita Pamushana In the large 5 bedroom villa. Incredible does not begin to describe how gorgeous the furnishings, and decorations are in this lodge. It is definitely an upscale game reserve lodge with all the amenities you would expect. We stayed 4 days previously at another upscale game reserve, and singita pamushana is so much larger. The amount of animals we encountered during our safaris were incredible ! We saw large herds of animals which was awesome for us. We were constantly bombarded with animals around every turn. Mr. T our ranger was so knowledgable, and funny we enjoyed his company very much. I am so grateful for this experience, and will cherish it for the rest of my life !

If I had to choose one resort among the Singita resorts, this would be the special one. Large extremely well appointed and comfortable rooms, large grounds, perched high up on the hill with great vistas and a private reserve with all the variety you want. What the game rides offer might not be as impressive as the flat Tanzanian landscape but has greater diversity with cave paintings, and lakes for animals to graze. Best of all - the white rhinoceros. Thanks to Emily for being such a great host(special dinners, surprises) and Time, our safari guide which made my trip memorable.

Room Tip: Best would be the room Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones chose for their honeymoon.

If I could give Singita Pamushana 6 stars, I would! I travel extensively on business and pleasure and can say that the combination of location and staff attention are the best I have ever experienced. By the end of our 4-night stay over Christmas, 2013 we were hugging our guides and the camp staff. The food and food service were outstanding. Particular examples of the excellent treatment we received were:

1. The lodge manager met us at Buffalo Range Airport when we flew in and waited behind to collect our passports so that we could get going while the slow wheels of Zimbabwean immigration turned.
2. I dropped my GoPro camera in the lake while we were fishing with our guide. The next day the lodge manager went scuba diving and found it for me (as a complete surprise) in spite of the fact that their are plenty of crocodiles in that water
3. Our guides did a brilliant job answering every question and finding an amazing number of animals - we experienced the very rare sight of a leopard kill at night.
4. The lodge manager, Jason, is an excellent tennis player and we had couple of great hits on the clay court during our stay.
I couldn't rate Pamushana more highly! Forget about Zimbabwe's politics - you're a million miles away from them in Pamushana/Malilangwe and the experience will be unforgettable!
