Traveling via Bulawayo to Vic Falls we came across this gem of a place. It's different to the normal Hotel and there is so much history and information to soak up while you are there.
Food was good and rooms make you feel welcome.

By chance I found this gem of Africa when looking for a place to stay while in Zimbabwe

Not only is it breathtaking (gorgeous girls work there) but out brought back fond memories of Shiwa N'gandu in Zambia to me.
It is a place built with so much love, skill, blood and tears, that you know bears a story and it really should be told

The food was nothing short of outstanding.
I can only think of one place in Africa that produces such excellent cuisine in amazing surroundings and that is Hartford House in the Natal midlands.
While the castle doesn't have a world class chef in the league of Jackie Cameron, this by no means implies their food is bland.
My compliments to the chef, the lamb I had was absolutely amazing (and lamb is my favourite fish) and Jackie would have thought highly of it's flavour and presentation.

A very comfortable four poster bed, big bath and excellent nights sleep and a hearty breakfast.

We found our vehicle had been bathed too.

Attention to detail while maintaining excellence

Don't miss what I feel is a tall gem

I had my wedding at the Nesbitt on the 27th of April 2013 and i cannot begin to explain the wonderful time we had.We were treated like royalty from start to end.The level of excellence at the Nesbitt is amazing. The staff was so wonderful especially the functions manager Amy-Leigh.She went out of her way to make our day extra special.Nothing was too much for her to do.What ever we asked for she did with a warm and happy heart. She's definatly a great asset to the Nesbitt family.
We took the most beautiful pictures at the castle gardens. The honey moon suit was breath taking and that includes the mouth watering breakfast they served us in the morning.A perfect way to end a perfect day.
I want to thank again the Nesbitt staff for all they did for us on our special day.
Keep up the amazing work guys.

It was quite unexpected to find this awesome castle/hotel in Bulawayo! We spent a lot of time to walk around in the surrounding garden and inside the hotel to look at the oldfashioned things everywhere. The staff was very kind and professional, the kitchen good. It is far from my homecountry (Sweden), but if possible I would return and choose this place again. I hope this interesting family company will have a lot of guests and get all support to maintain in this all of you!condition also in the future. And yes......maybe I come back, I didn`t have time now to look at the World Heritage in the near with the bushman paintings. So see you again

the place is very peaceful and the reception was just perfect. did my wedding there in may 2012. the hotel is a full package as they have chapel facilities. bar facilities and the scenes for taking photos which you will never regret such that you dont have to drive out for any of these activities. room service was good. the place is just quiet and peaceful and affords you the opportunity to have quality time with whoever in a vintage style. the styling is truly vintage and that makes this place unique and extra-ordinary.
