Although I live in Bulawayo we visit The Nesbitt Castle every now and then for the contrasting atmosphere, an English Castle in the Heart of Matabeleland.
Always lush and green, friendly staff, the occasional antelope frolicking around and of course the gothic vibe from the castle. We normally go for high tea and cakes which are always great and very reasonably priced and finish off with a little self-guided tour around the maze of the castle.

It's a regular place for functions and weddings too, even with it's own little chapel on the grounds.
A place I normally take friends from out of town to check out for an afternoon.
Safe parking and ample parking space.
(I have never had a proper meal at the Nesbitt though)

The gardens and Old Castle are really grandeur and the Coach House serves great meals. A very great venue for weddings and corporate functions

The history of Nesbitt Castle is the history of two unusual men with extraordinary vision; born in different centuries these men both fell in love with the idea of a gothic folly in the heart of Matabeleland. And what could be more incongruous than an English fortified castle in Africa? It was the shared spirit of eccentricity and obduracy that spurred these men on to face the challenges that the original construction and subsequent renovation demanded.
