Staying at Stanley Safari Lodge was the perfect start to our honeymoon. We were blown away on arrival! The location of the lodge is perfect; it is off the beaten track which is exactly what we wanted, but we did not isolated because the hotel staff made it so easy for us to get around. Clara booked all of our activities such that everything was seemless. We would recommend the Sunset Cruise and a helicopter ride over the Falls - both stunning! We stayed in an open suite and it was incredible seeing the spray of the Falls from the comfort of our bed, watching the sun go down from our private terrace complete with plunge pool and awaking to the roar of lions. The main lodge is beautiful, as are the grounds and the main pool. We had our own personal waitress for the week and we dined wherever we wished; one night we had dinner on a secluded platform and the other night by the pool and we were even presented with a "Happy Honeymoon" cake. The staff could not be more helpful and I cannot fault Stanley Safari Lodge in any way - it is perfect and was the best start to a honeymoon that we will never forget for all the right reasons. We booked our trip through Imagine Africa who recommended this lodge and I would highly recommend them as a travel agent if you are thinking of a trip to Africa!

Room Tip: Open suite is a must!

The open suites are not the type of place you want to find yourself alone....this is one of the most romantic spots, rooms and lodges I have ever been to. From the birds flying through the room, to the undisturbed breeze and smells of the bush wofting past your face and the distant rumble of the falls, this room experience made me happy for the first time in many years not to have been Livingstone the day he met the falls...I have been spoiled and am very happy Stanley Safari Lodge exists. Paula was the perfect host, and I have not giggled, laughed and felt so welcome by staff in long long time. Although best if you have your own car, or all transfers arranged, the experience is worth not being on the river edge, under the microlite drone, and thunderous chopper blades of sight seeing tour. Stanley Safari food was scrumptious accommodating and very tasty. Will definitely go back......

Room Tip: Open suites

Our room was open air - walls half way up, cement floor, ceiling...and I was a little apprehensive at first but not to worry at all...it was treat of lifetime. Birds wake you up in the morning - sit on private porch under your tree and look down into valley and see Victoria Falls vapor billowing up 3 miles away. The room has wonderful queen bed, mosquito net, luxury tub that looks out into valley...and the staff and lodge itself are excellent, professional, very clean... Meal times are special...they set you up at different tables in the courtyard or you can request a location...by the infinity pool or up on a ledge or even in the lodge...food is excellent and plentiful. There is coffee/tea service in the room. Although it was kind of Flintstone at first glance, experience of 2 nights great. They also arrange for tours and transportation to activities - we did sunset cruise on Zambezi river, tour of the Mokoni village, and of course Victoria Falls themselves. Great time - Peter and Dennis and Effesor are all first class guides and personal staff.

Room Tip: We liked the Bird room.

We really had a fantastic time, and I would like to compliment Mr. du Plessis and his staff. He was very friendly and made us feel at home. The staff are very friendly and really helpful. He arranged all our tours for us, as we requested. The sunset cruise was wonderful, and the Victoria Falls were SPECTACULAR! We experienced the rain forest in total. The tranquil atmosphere was just bliss, and the private pool at our chalet was perfect. The food was lovely and dining under the stars... like heaven. I will definitely go again in the near future. If you want to experience nature as it is meant to be, with the luxury and pampering included, do not hesitate to go to Stanleys . We left with fond memories and beautiful photographs!!

Room Tip: Any one, they are all fantastic and unique, with a view
