I stayed at Chanters with my dad and friend recently as we were attending a wedding in Livingstone from Lusaka. We didn't stay long but I will definitely stay again and have been recommending the lodge to everyone!
The pricing is sensible and the staff are very friendly and helpful!
The place is very clean and easy to find. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very prompt with regards to responsiveness.
The Lodge was easy to locate aswel.

This is a great place to stay if you are in Livingstone. The location is not in the middle of the town, but that is not necessary because taxis are inexpensive and if you organize any tours they will come and pick you up and return you to your hotel. Richard is an engaging host who really tries to make your stay the best it can be. The rooms are good size and clean, and the breakfast was tasty. If I am in Livingstone again, I would stay at Chanters Lodge!

This was our first time to Livingstone and were introduced to Chanter's by friends of my in-laws. Richard Chanter and I corresponded via email several times coordinating our request for 3 rooms, and excursions to the sites. He was super helpful in all regards. He is a wealth of knowledge regarding the area and what to see. He even picked us up from the airport personally. Classy guy!

We found the rooms to be clean and functional. While the craftsmanship of the tile install lacks luster don't forget that the cost for a night's stay is reasonable which is not easy to find in Livingstone.

All of the staff was wonderful and the room rates include breakfast to order. Overall we were very pleased!

Thanks Richard!

Our visit this time was from 3rd January for 5 nights. We arrived in Livingstone by bus from Lusaka where we were met by Richard Chanter owner/manager. On arrival at the lodge the rest of the staff were there to greet us. Just like coming home after a long absence. Our luggage was taken to our rooms and after out catch up chat we went to settle in and unpack. The 4 days flew by as all our excursions were booked by the reception staff they are also helpful in suggesting day trips or activities that are available. Nothing is too much trouble for the Chanter's girls Annie, Suzie, Sandy, Monica, Junior just to name a few. Reasonable room rates include cooked breakfast regardless of the time you require it (early or late). The restaurant has an amazing menu and the food served is of the highest quality. Richard and his staff have a genuine interest in their guests and all their adventures experienced in Livingstone. The rooms are always kept spotless and fresh with tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. The grounds are always green and lush thanks to the dedicated gardener Gilbert. The lodge is situated in a quiet area within easy walking distance to the center of Livingstone. We don't hesitate to book Chanters lodge when we are visiting Livingstone its the only place to stay as far as we are concerned.. Thanks again Richard we are counting down the days til our return.

For the fourth time we have visited Livingstone and continue to stay at Chanter's Lodge. We feel 'at home' here. The staff and owner/manager Richard Chanter feel like family to us - and the feeling you get when returning is the same as returning home to family. We are welcomed, farewelled on day trips and welcomed back again continually. The food is absolutely wonderful and the rates are extremely great. Why go to a sterile, indifferent location when you can have the wonderful atmosphere found at Chanter's? All excursions can be arranged through reception and nothing is ever too much for staff to do. Richard picks you up on arrival (this time we arrived from Lusaka by the Mazhandu Family Bus Service business coach) full breakfast is included and also transfer to your departure point. What more can one say about the fantastic service received at Chanter's. Thank you Richard, Annie, Suzie, Sandy, Junior and everyone else including Gilbert who keeps the grounds in fantastic condition. It is also only a short walk to the centre of Livingstone and short 10km to Victoria Falls and Bridge area.

We stayed here during a 3 day visit to Zambia. Richard and his staff are welcoming and friendly and were more than happy to accomodate our needs. They arranged transfers to and from the airports and arranged the activities we wanted to take part in. The accomodation and facilities are lovely and tranquil and it is close to all the major areas we wanted to visit, namely Victoria Falls. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I were to visit Zambia again.

Room Tip: The suite was beautiful!

We stayed in Chanters Lodge in November for 3 nights. Our stay was very pleasant. Richard Chanter and his staff are doing a great job and advised us very well about the activities available in the area. The rooms are very comfortabele and clean and the garden and the swimmingpool are very nice to relax coming back from all the thrilling activities Livingstone offers. The meals are very tasty. As we were driving ourselves through Zambia it was very important we could park our car safely inside the secured fence. Thank you for informing us about the road conditions in the western part of Zambia. The information was very useful for us. We will surely come back if we are in the neighbourhood!

Room Tip: Choose a room at the poolside
