The hotel and its sister, the Royal Livingstone, have the prime location next to the Falls. Zambezi sun is closer, but the Royal livingstone has the river terrace where you can sip your sundowners. However, you can use the facilities of both hotels.
The staff were friendly and the rooms and the pool fine, but the stay was spoilt a little by the extortionate prices of food and drink in the hotels- $39 for a buffet, and $4 for a local beer, $7 for a Pimms (plus tax plus service) We were also charged $10 for a taxi into town, but managed to get one back for $5 (without haggling).
The only reasonable option to eat without going into town is Squires- much cheaper than either hotel and very good.
The main benefit of staying in the hotel is its proximity to the Falls, and the fact that you can go in and out of the National Park without paying. The drawback is that you get ripped off on the food and drink- I would recommend eating and drinking elsewhere if possible!
