My wife, mother and I stayed at the Green Tree Lodge for 3 nights in July 2009 and found it to be a wonderful hotel in every way. It is located about 5 minutes by taxi from almost anything in Livingstone and not too far from the border and Victoria Falls. The staff is very pleasant and Hector, the owner, is one of the most helpful and congenial fellows I've run across in the hospitality industry. The air conditioned/heated bungalows are simple but nice and certainly very clean, while the grounds are well kept and populated by a few rabbits, guinea fowl and guinea pigs. Lastly, the restaurant was good and very affordable as were the drinks. I highly recommend this hotel without reservation

We are fussy folk, but, there was NOTHING to complain about,it was a pleasure to stay there.First class service at no frills prices. It's peaceful, not far from the town, only 15mins by taxi(not expensive) to the Vic Falls, lovely, individual bugalows, very clean and quiet, sitting within walled gardens, filled with fruit trees, swimming pool, garden chairs, and tame rabbits, guinea pigs, guinea fowl, all living in this little haven.Nothing was too much trouble for the owner,Hector,a great host,or the staff. We did go a couple of evenings down to The Royal Livingstone for sunset cocktails,a must 'do',sitting on the decking on the edge of Zambezi river, but, were very happy to return back to the Green Tree for dinner after that, ample food, all homemade, nicely presented, excellent price's.The breakfasts were wonderful, full cooked English, fresh fruit, juices etc......We cannot praise this super little lodge enough,it was perfect..Would definately go back, and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates warm hospitality, home cooked food, peace and quiet, and very fair prices.......

Green Tree Lodge is definitely a hidden gem. Location wise it’s perfect because its only 10 minutes from the airport and is away from the busy town centre, but only a 15 minute walk away. We have stayed in quite a few other budget lodges in Livingstone before and in comparison to other lodges Green Tree Lodge is simply stunning. Most noticeable is just how green everything is, full of lush vegetation, beautiful green grass, and lovely fruit trees everywhere. The attractive swimming pool looks very inviting, but the icing on the cake for us was all the cute little animals running around freely in the grounds, from bunnies, quail, to the very intriguing genie foal. It’s just lovely. We were quite pleasantly surprised just how affordable Green Tree lodge is, especially when you take into account that most other budget lodges are definitely not nearly as beautiful. Clearly a lot of time and effort has been made to make this into a little green oasis for guests to enjoy. The service was spot on as well, the staff really made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The rooms are small and cosy, with everything you need including air conditioning. The free wireless internet came in useful and there is a bar on site as well, which we used a lot! The other nice thing about the bar is that unlike most other lodges, the bar is not open to the public but only to guests and their friends. It makes the stay that little bit more private, which is great. One of our favourite things about Green Tree Lodge is the breakfast. The full English breakfast is fantastic, really, one of the best we’ve had anywhere. The fact that I had it free every morning was an added bonus, but we would have happily paid for it. We highly recommend Green Tree Lodge because we feel it’s by far the best lodge we’ve stayed at in Livingstone and will be returning very soon for a much longer stay this time.

All at green tree lodge were lovely, they really were more than happy to help with whatever we asked/needed. The family run lodge made such a relaxing place to stay and to be honest, more like a home from home, so much so that we immediately booked for a months stay next year. I cannot fault Green Tree Lodge, its rates were surprisingly affordable and it was a very safe and peaceful base for our holiday. The chalet we stayed in had everything we needed, air conditioning, wireless internet, fridge etc, not that we spent long inside when we were in such beautiful surroundings. It was very easy to walk/drive into town and even the stunning Victoria falls were only a 10 minute drive. We have to admit we both put on a bit of holiday weight during our stay.... ...the food at Green Tree Lodge was just so good! The full English breakfast was a great way to start our day and we couldn't think of somewhere better to dine whilst watching the sunset than the veranda at green tree lodge. The veranda was also the location of the lodges private bar; and unlike many of the other lodges bars, because only guests and their friends were allowed it definitely helped keep the lodges site safe and secure. The chalets surrounding garden was beautiful with many mature fruit trees and a secluded swimming pool which was the icing on the cake. We fell in love with Zambia thanks to Green Tree Lodge so watch out, I'm sure you might as well!
