“Red Dunes.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

Cool dunes where you can walk a lot and enjoy a intense sun...!!! There is a place where you can rent a motor bike and drive around the Dunes, that is really fun!!!

“Not to bad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

being from Africa we have seen deserts like few. Although the red dunes are really built up it is not all that amazing but saying that it is still worth a trip out there (only 6km from Mui Ne'). Be sure to leave your bike with reputable shop owners in parking area or you might be walking back home. Also do not entertain the young kids trying to scam a few dollar off you- they should be in school anyway!

“Very unusual , to see that”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

It was good to see but, nothing fantastic, the dune were not really high and deep, like a desert sand, I make my way especially to Mui Ne to see it, but it is not worth the trip in my point of view . Anyway is you stay in Phan Thiet , just near the galleria take the number 1 bus to the dunes cost 5000 dong one way.

“Watch out for their tricks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

The place itself is amazing. The kids there let you use (rent) these plastic sheets and show you how to slide down the dunes. Pretty fun but sand does get in you hair and eyes (and mouth). The thing to look out for is their trick with money afterwards. First of all, hold on TIGHT to your wallets and valuables. Secondly do NOT say yes if they offer to use your phone to take a photo of you. Lastly, do not give your tip immediately. Pay them the price they asked for. They will spend the trip all the way back to your taxi begging for a tip. THEN you give the tip. We made the mistake of giving them the tip upfront and mind you we paid a 100% tip to boot. And one of them pretended to "split" with the money while the rest made up a story of how they are now left with nothing and beg for more. So just watch out for that - it made things pretty unpleasant for us.
