This resort is ok but I felt there was something missing! The staff are friendly but not as friendly as the previous 4 hotels we stayed in during this trip.
The room was very nice, we had a sea view bungalow and it was very comfortable. The only issue with the room was the bathroom is open and there was a hole in the ceiling linked to the bathroom. We kept getting mosquitos in the room as a result of this and after 10 days in Vietnam we had 4 days in this resort and ended up with 15+ bites each! I guess the resort does not use spray which is unusual?
The bar on the sea front was ok but very dark and depressing and there was never more than one other group in there so no atmosphere. We had snack food in there the first night which I would describe as average.
The breakfast is wide ranging in choice and there is an egg chef to cook fresh requests. However, the western breakfast food was a bit 'cheap' tasting and bland, an example of this would be the bacon which had no taste whatsoever.
The road outside has a huge choice of restaurants, all of which we tried were very good. The hotel next door on the left side as you leave does a great lunch and their sea front snack offering is substantially better than Sai Gon's.
I had read this hotel had a gym and I am training for a marathon so I had looked forward to using the facilities. The 'gym' is a small room with everything turned off at the mains, this meant the room was about 40 degrees when I walked in as the AC was obviously switched off the the one and only running machine is facing a wall. there is a few weights on the floor and thats it. I did not even bother trying to set it up.
The pool area is very good and the beach is amazing, however, not one person ever came over to ask us if we wanted drinks over the whole 4 days. A big miss here, we would have bought drinks and spent money!
Overall, its not the worst place I have ever stayed but I would not go back and I will soon forget it a an experience.
