“Huge beds!!”
Reviewed January 18, 2011

The staff willingly accommodated 4 of us on a shoestring budget in a deluxe room though we paid for the extra breakfasts.

The beds were huge for 1 person so we could comfortably share however, if you paid for an extra bed, there would be little space to maneuver. Heard about the mosquitoes so we put up the net for one bed but there was little need for it. In fact the bites we got all occurred outside the hotel grounds.

Breakfast spread was more than sufficient.

Only problem we faced was the lack of beach deckchairs from Canary. The next door's hotel's beach was much emptier but we were shoo-ed off as we were not their guests. Luckily we did not have much time to spend on the beach.

We scouted around for cheaper motorbike rentals but seriously, just get it from either the hotel's souvenir shop or opposite the road. Think it is about USD8 per day for the auto.

Staying at Canary means you are slightly out of the main tourist belt so you def need a motorbike. Alternatively, just flag a cab. Be warned...they are never available when you desperately need them.

sitting in the hotel now on the beach front luxury bungalow, with the deafening sound of the sess pit pump pumping out to see,and the smell of you guessed it. we staying here with friends and this noise happens all day and night!!1 we asked them to turn it off which they did at 2 in the morning, and restarted it again at 5 45 the same morning!!
as i write my wife and friends are looking for another hotel, this place advertised peace and tranquility.its just not happening!!! the staff are moody and argue with each other, and they have no idea how to make cocktails, which you will finally get after about 10 mins! if you drink beer you will be ok,cos they can just pop the top,i asked for a bottle of wine and the waitress disapeared, she returnd 10 mins later with an unchilled bottle which she had bought from the shop outside!!! still sitting here waiting to be moved 7 hours after requesting, the room has not been cleaned and no bottled drinking water has been brought,if you ask for teabags you are allowed 1 a day!!! and if you want coffee they take the teabags away!!!! plus side the internet works today!! pool nice beach nice, overall very very very disapointed, cannot wait to get out of here......3 days into my holiday!!! they have no idea whatsoever on how to handle this situation!!! so if you like crap service, noise and russians, and waitresses that only smile when they have wind, this is for you!!! otherwise stay well clear..............very disapointed!!!!!!!

We stayed 6 days in the resort and found it very comfortable and relaxing. The food is good and prices are moderate. Better Food outside the resort, turn left and on the opposite Side of the road: Nuyen Vu. Superb fish dishes, prices are very low and good service.
You should also try a massage at the beach. It is just a little hut on the left side, but extraordinary good. I didn't expect such a good massage in Vietnam.

I stayed 4 pleasant nights in a standard room (nice large room, no balcony) - an Expedia.Com special rate of @ $39. There are two restaurants - one outdoors with a sea view; a choice of sunloungers - either by the pool or in the private beach area. The hotel is at the end of the long strip of resorts - close to the Mui Ne township and spectacular harbour. The resort can arrange jeep tours to the sanddunes (red and white, 4 hours for $US 12 each). Cheaper tours may be available thru nearby shops. Automatic scooters can be hired from the resort shop. Free internet access is available in reception. The staff on the whole have minimal English but it's not a problem. The minor downside is the hotel seems to attract busloads of young people for Kareoke parties - this happened twice during my stay. The air conditioning helps drown the racket till it stops about 10pm. I caught a $US10 return bus trip from/to Saigon, with drop off/pick up at the resort.

My friend and I booked for two nights accommodation. We travelled from Ho Chi Minh by bus to Mui Ne. As the resort is located towards the end of the main road, our bus stopped at the office of Sinh Travel and had to hire taxi to the resort. Then we realised it was quite away from the busy area of Mui Ne and taxi was not really cheap (our heart beat was raising as the meter jumped much faster than taxis in Ho Chi Minh city). If you wouldn't mind to see the taxi meter racing in front of you and pay maybe 50K to 100K Dong per trip for the short ride (depends on your destination), taxis are readily available outside the resort. We were lazy to paddle bikes (USD 4 per day) to the town area or nearby and thought it wouldn't worth it to hire a taxi to the town areas for meals so we sampled the food in and around the resort for the following days.
Upon check-in, the hotel staff retained our passports without explaining the purpose nor the procedure to us. Astonished, my friend had argument with the staff and got our passports back eventually. The staff insisted that we handed in our passports to the counter for them to send to the local police station. Though we did as we promised (to let them have the passports for two hours), we had sulking faces from the staff for the following days. Nevertheless, to be fair, the service was considered good as they called Sinh Travel for confirmation of booking for us, and changed the room for us promptly as the safety box was malfuncion. Still, they did it with the sulking faces.
We checked in on Saturday, when most of the local tourists also frequented the place. There was a group of energetic teenagers staying above our room and made quite a bit of noise (tumping sounds above our heads and overly crowded beach with loud speakers for music). Suggest not to have high expectation for weekends. After the group checked out, the resort returned to its serenity and we enjoyed the stay much better.
We tried the food in the resort, at the cafeteria next to the pool to have better seaview. However, food was terribly disappointing. We had (a) oily, soft, slightly over-cooked, near tasteless french fries (b) fried fish with tamarind source which the sliced fish was pathetically thin, hard, dry, tasteless, with the tamarind source which I could hardly tast the tamarind. We had better food and ambience at the restaurant of the Lucy Resort next door. Breakfast served at the second floor restaurant was ok but not great.
The room we stayed had balcony facing the garden. Room was big with comfortable beds. No complaints about the room other than the moiquitos coz we had the room on the ground floor. So you better use the moisquito net provided (we didn't know how to set up) or bring your own electric moisquito repellent (which I gladly found that my friend had brought that with her). Our request to change to higher floor was rejected because rooms were occupied. Wondering why rooms on second and third floor would be given to group tourists stayed only one day but not us who stayed for two nights.
The beach behind the resort was nice and clean enough. I walked along the beach and found that there were more homes and fishing boats than resorts nearby.
Overall, I would rank it between three to four upon five, for the clean room, prompt service and nice scenery. Lower your expectation for serenity during weekends, don't expect really nice food and bear with the front desk staff if you chance upon a few sulking faces. It is only a three-star hotel, isn't it?

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of May. The rooms were lovely and clean with balcony, free internet in lobby, and good bed. As a resort, all the trimmings were available. (Room service, etc).
While lovely we found some of the staff (not all) to be a little unfriendly. (From cleaning, to restaurant to reception staff). (It is possible this was due to events the day before we arrived (a rumour we heard at our next stop was there had been a tragic accident there) but this is unconfirmed, and wasn't mentioned by the Canary staff).
The restaurant food was ok, not great, the pool was nice (with bar and fantastic waitress Phuong). The slightly out of town location was great - quiet, peaceful, and you can rent a scooter from the gift shop to get into town. The gift shop girls were friendly and helpful with tours, local information etc.

If you love relaxing, beautiful clean rooms, lazing in the pool with cocktails...then look no further! The staff were super friendly and the newly refurbished rooms are immaculate. It is slightly out of the main town of MuiNe but thats about the only issue...for me this was a definate plus as there is no-one wandering along the beach harrassing you. Taxi's are located outside the hotel and its only about a 5 min drive. Motorbike hire right across the street was super cheap and friendly. We had to spend an extra night here as one of our friends was unwell....i was really happy!!!
