Hotel's lobby is decorated with lighting Christmas tree. Set of furnitures for rest are in the right side. There is all in wooden furniture. Drinking bar is on the left, but quite small.

In room, all the furniture is in solid wood that make me feel like staying home (my hometown is teak wood province). Room is wide enough, as well as bathroom. There is wooden window in room which can open to see the staircase, so this is no view to see. Bed is soft and clean in wood base. Bathroom is clean with white wash bowl, toilet, bathtub. There is small red bag of bath kid near the wash bowl, which you have to pay extra to take it home. I have good sleep here.

Connect to the hotel, there is Golden Sea Massage. It's the traditional massage for relaxation which offer body massage, oil massage, foot massage, and so on. Cost per person is 200,000 VND for full courst, 1.5 hours. I tried that already, and feeled good.

We booked 12 rooms, stayed there for 6 nights. Due to overlap booking, we were forced to leave the hotel in the last night. Very difficult to deal with Manager and staff. They are so money oriented and don't care their customers. Manager, Sale person and receptionest say different things. Had enough and will never go back to that hotel.

The rate charged is acceptable but if your tour agent is Rose Hotel then beware that they maybe coherts in cheating your money.

Breakfast sucks....is the food that hawkers sell on the street no standard at all. There are a lot of those stalls nearby ... maybe ordered from there ;(

No swimming pool, only got the sea some 1km away.

Always check items in the room if you do decide to not heed this advice cos many things are missing.

Our family traveled to Da Nang for a summer vacation. We chose Golden Sea Hotel because it is near to the beach. The moment, we arrived to Da Nang airport, the hotel manager was nice enough to provide an airport pickup from airport to the hotel; which is around 15 minutes. While we were there, the staffs were very nice. The manager even bought our kids a pizza on my son's birthday. The room is very spacious and nice. The bathroom is very clean. The free internet hook up allows my kids to have some fun and not get bored. From the window, we could see the beach within distance. Anyhow, the free breakfast buffet does need more variety than just being offer. It was a pleasant trip and we love it.

We are not even home from our travels yet and I felt it was necessary to get on Trip Advisor and warn all possible travellers considering staying at the Golden Sea in Danang - DON'T DO IT!

The staff do not explemplify the wonderful spirit and hospitality of the Vietnamese people that we have gotten the privilege to experience at our other locations throughout Vietnam. The room rate is good but that is the only highlight to this empty place.

Firstly, the hotel rooms are extremely large and they were reasonably priced; however, the washrooms tubs could use an upgrade, our shower did not drain properly, and there was not a sufficient amount of towels in the room. We only received two bath towels a day. Even when we called for additional towels (which they required a couple of reminders before the towels were brought to us) the towels that were given to us were damp.

Secondly, the breakfast was horrible. It was not fresh looking or abundant and there were even dead bugs by the window near the beverages. We were hungry going to breakfast but lost our appetite once we got there. We spoke to other travellers and they also agreed that it was the worst breakfast amoungst their travels as well.

Thirdly, laundry was a major issue. They stated that they will have it back to you within 24 hours and we even confirmed with the front desk; however, our clothing was not done in time. We learned it was because they do not dry out clothes in a dryer but hang dry our clothing. We learned of this because they said it rained most of the day that is why our clothes were not dry. We were going to depart early the next morning; hence, the requirement for our clothes to be done on the time which we did confirm before giving them out clothes. We asked to speak to a manager and no one was availalbe to handle the issue except a very timid front desk receptionist. And basically she stated that there was nothing that she could do until the morning. Finally, after my husband had to argue with the front desk we demanded that they return out clothing to us immediately. In which the front desk responded that the person with the key went home so they could not even access our clothes. However, magically after more arguing, they managed to returned our clothing to us that evening. Still very wet and damp. In the morning, they charged us for the laundry service and tried to state to us that the cothing was dry except one pair of jeans. I on the otherhand had to disagree since I spent most of the evening drying out clothing that was suppose to be done by them by using the hair dryer in the room. In the end, they waived the fee once they realized we were not going to pay for a service that we did not recieve.

At last, the staff. There were no maps of the city that the hotel could provide and they were not very knowledgeable with regard to how to get to anywhere, excursions, and recommending places to eat. Thank goodness they had internet. However, they are capable of ordering a taxi. We even had to carry our own luggage up and down their staircase before the bellman opened the door. When they were interacting with us, they allowed other people coming up to the counter to interrupt our conversation with them as well instead of finishing dealing with our issue before proceeding with assisting another customer.

Last but not least, the location was far from the city centre and we spent about $2 USD each way each time we wanted to get something to eat. It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach but nothing was open on the beach strip except a couple of street vendors.

If given the choice again, we would have travelled to Hoi An - which we loved. There is a travel agent about two blocks from the hotel that we booked a day trip to marble mountian and Hoi An with. Again, the hotel will not be able to assist you with these types of inquiries. BUT if you must stay in Da Nang, you may want to consider staying elsewhere.

Bit of a strange place, this one. In a great location between the city and the beach, both being about 1km in either direction. Room itself was spacious, well decorated but smelt like it needed a damn good airing. Could have something to do with it being the rainy season, I don't know, but it had a real damp smell about it. We asked to change rooms and looked at a few others, but all had the same musty aroma. So we stayed in the original one. Had a balcony looking towards Danang beach, A/C, good sized beds, plenty of room. Lift to all floors, free internet, restaurant on the 8th floor, which was a bit of an oddity in that it could be something really nice but didn't quite have it. Tablecloths & chair covers had cigarette burns in them, there was chilled water & juices available but never any glasses to drink them from. At dinner one evening, despite several people eating, there was only one fork & no knives to eat with. maybe it was slightly out of season or there weren't many guests booked in but it didn't seem very well equipped. Having said that, the girls on reception were very friendly & helpful, and it was well situated.

Hi,

Hotel itself was nice and large, clean with good size rooms and huge beds. A few issues though..

Firstly the pre-arranged taxi pick up from the airport didn't arrive, not a major issue as plenty of taxis there but a little annoying. Arriving at 9pm on an evening flight from Ho Chi Minh we were hungry. When asking reception about resturants and places to eat we were met with a bit of a blank expression and just told to go to the 8th floor. When we got the hotel resturant was shut... asked again at reception where we could eat and although helpfull they had limited english and couldn't really help in us finding somewhere to eat. We wandered towards the beach and finally found somewhere.

I enjoyed our stay here and the hotel was in a brilliant location close to the beach where we spent a good day sunning ourselves.

Personally I didn't feel that Da Nang itself had much to offer. The town didn't really have any resturants and was a taxi ride from the beach and the hotel. I'd strongly suggest if staying for more than one night, to get a taxi straight to Hoi An which we found to be a much nicer town.

More places to eat, nicer and quiter feel to the place, enjoyable and safe to wander around at night etc and and a beach nearby.
