Description: La Maison 1888 captures the essence of haute French dining, with the distinct gourmet experience of delectable à la carte menu of distinguished classic French cuisine in Danang. This signature restaurant has already becoming the number one gastronomic destination in Vietnam. Being the first restaurant in Vietnam that features a Michelin-starred chef and after three successful years working with Michel Roux, La Maison 1888 is now home to the world-renowned chef Pierre Gagnaire. Top 10 in the World's Best New Restaurants 2016 by CNN, this truly special restaurant was designed to recreate an antique French mansion with each dining area its own intimate niche reflecting a period room. La Maison 1888’s setting tells the story of a colonial French-Eurasian family through architecture and interior design. Private dining rooms reveal the characters of this fictional clan: from the sensible Accountant’s Room, to the thrill-seeking Traveler’s Room, to the risqué Le Boudoir de Madame.

Well....where to start?

We were 4 in total.......my 3 girls!!! meaning beautiful wife and two lovely daughters and surely me!

The bar? .....excellent ambience and great drinks menu!! Even for kids or non alcohol consumer people....we enjoyed while deciding what to eat!!

The restaurant? ...... Absolutely wonderful!!! Nice set up plus.... The food although "petit" it had character, it was colorful and tasteful ....

Great wine list....keep in mind that the most expensive is not the best AND also the best in not the most expensive!!!!

Desserts?....very good although I preferred the starters and main courses...... (Not big fan of sweets)

Coffee? Needs to improve big time.... Feedback given! I hope they change!!

Pastry? Amazing!!! The sweets coming with the after desert were unbelievably good.

Price? ....... well, is not cheap ..... sorry for the bad news.....but I would not spend time on this as for all of us having dinner at La Maison was a culinary experience and that is what we look for when we go on vacation....

Well done to a great team!!

Fine dining at it's very best .Quality of food was superb and attention to detail was outstanding. The service was first class ,as what would be expected in such a fine establishment. If you are lucky enough to stay at the Resort ,do not miss the opportunity to indulge yourself.

La Maison 1888 is in an absolute breathtaking setting; a colonial French mansion perched high on a hill above the ocean. Everything about it is worthy of photography from the peacock chairs to the black staircase to the objets d'art dotted throughout the building. It is no understatement to say I wanted to move in. Staff offered to tour us around La Maison and I can only encourage you to do the same.

We arrived just after 6pm for our 7.30 reservation, and told staff that we intended to watch the sunset over a few drinks before moving inside for dinner. We were therefore surprised to be presented with menus not long after we arrived and to be ushered inside at 6.30 to begin our meal.

The restaurant has a great deal of ambience, however this was marred slightly by the speed with which we were moved through our meal. Being on our honeymoon, we wanted the evening to be something a little bit specials so we ordered the Menu Exceptionnel, thinking we would enjoy a long dinner with the courses spread throughout the evening. The courses seemed to follow one another quite rapidly, however, and as a result we left not long after dessert.

The quality of the food was excellent and presentation is clearly something the chefs take seriously. The foie gras terrine was the perfect combination of sweet and salty, the scallops were fresh and firm, the Vietnamese basil sorbet tart and refreshing. The duck was a highlight for us - tender, juicy and the accompaniments were superb. Being Australian, we had high expectations for the pavlova and this is the only part of the meal we didn't absolutely adore. It was more like a meringue topped with cream, rather than the crisp meringue shell with a marshmallowy centre that we have come to expect from a pav.

As we were not staying in the resort, we were informed in advance that a dress code applied and mobile phones are not permitted in the restaurant. It was therefore disappointing to see a number of men in casual wear in the restaurant. We also noticed that every single table except for our own repeatedly used their mobile phones over the course of the night, with one table even using an ipad. The constant light of mobile phones around us was distracting and killed the fine dining atmosphere somewhat - at times it felt like we were sitting in a well decorated Starbucks.

Dining at La Maison 1888 is certainly an experience. If a few minor things can be fixed (consistency on dress codes, mobile phone use and timing of service), then this is an experience not to be missed.

The venue was stunning beautiful house with some kind of a story behind this family home. The kitchen is an open full view kitchen. The dining room has a name the veranda. I took my wife for dinner on our first night at the resort loved it so much we had dinner there for 3 consecutive nights!!! The cuisine is classic French but full of flavour and rich. Not filling just very satisfying! Very delicate complex flavours the service was impeccable very courteous yet not pretentious truly authentic hospitality - this is a do not miss place to dine
