“Luxury in paradise”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

What a beautiful location, what a beautiful hotel. Very luxurious rooms, with beautiful wood decor looking down on the central courtyard with its palm trees and pool. Gorgeous and romantic. I was fortunate to wake up early enough to see some amazing sunrises. The beach is clean and beautiful. The service was faultless. Will be back.

Dear Londonians,
Terrific to hear that the Furama Resort was your 'luxury in paradise'. We work very hard to keep it a paradise, both on facilities to keep the rooms attractive and comfortable as well as all our services including the English language training as well as on all our standards and procedures. but the most important aspect we are concentrating on is the personal contact to each guest allowing us to tailor their stay to their own personal expectations.
The Furama is a truly romantic hotel in a great location where you can admire the sunrise as well as the gorgeous beach which has one of the finest sands in South East Asia.
I will not miss to give a praise to all my staff who work so hard for every single guest trying to exceed their expectations.
We are certainly looking forward to your return to your paradise.
Thank you

Clean, professional, comfortable resort in a beautiful setting on DaNang beach. Wonderful steak dinner on the beach with a beautiful demonstration of Cham dance (beautiful girls in full customary dress, dancing exotic dances barefoot). Hostess Yuki (nickname for Vietnamese who is fluent in English and Japanese as well as Vietnamese) made arrangements to fit me in as a single without a reservation. So happy she did. The sand on this beach is perfect sandtrap sand (golf reference) with crystal clear water washing up over it. Brilliant colors, fun activities and great friendly people. I did not encounter a single service person who did not understand and speak English. Good for me because my Vietnamese is worse than lousy.

Room Tip: Pay more for the ocean view if you are planning to sit in your room looking out. I recommend gettin...

Dear Mr. Law,
It is a great pleasure to hear that your stay with us was exceptional, clean, professional and comfortable! We are always focusing on personal service to each of our guests in order to be able to adopt to their needs and trying to exceed those as much as possible with professional, clean and pleasant experiences.
The newly formed Steakhouse "The Fan" is an exceptional outlet and provides a very different kind of feeling set right on the beach. We provide cultural and traditional entertainment three times per week with dances and cultural films about the city of Danang, the Cham Culture and other attractions in our beautiful destination.
It is also good to hear that our staff's English Language proficiencies are getting better after our great efforts to improve their speaking and listening skills.
Thank you again for your great review and we hope that you will have another chance to visit us again soon.

When you stay in the same hotel for a week, it is very easy to find things that end up annoying you, but let's start with the positives, Furama is a great hotel, with great restaurants, a fantastic Bach and two very decent swimming pools, nice spa and overall attentive service. What really annoy me? The swimming policy, Furama is located in the famous 'China beach' as trip of 25 km of beach with Furama occupying nearly 800 of beach and for some stupid reason you can only swim in 20 of those meters, with calm sea, completely transparent and no currents. You can't even snorkel in those 20 meters! And all because the life guards do not want to out an effort. It is the most ridiculous policy I have even seen in the hundreds of hotels I have visited. Service is a bit hit and miss at times and prices are in the very high range for Vietnam. Food is very good though

Dear Mr. Ricardo B.,
We are happy to hear that your stay with us turned out to be great. The location of the Furama Resort is probably the best on the whole of Danang Beach ("China Beach") and our two very distinct swimming pools are liked by all of our guests and provide two very different experiences (by the sea or inside our tropical garden providing the necessary shade). In regards to your comments on the swimming policy in the sea, I have checked the situation and instructed our team to be more attentive and increase the swimming area if the sea is calm and without currents.
We are further very pleased to hear that our food in all of our restaurants has met or exceeded your expectations. We put a lot of efforts in our offer in all of our restaurants in order to have a great variety of dishes in top international tastes. We adopt our offer to the different seasons of the year and are always creating and introducing new dishes and menus as well as different entertainments for our guests which is highly appreciated by the very international visitors staying at the Furama Resort.
In regards to the pricing of the dishes, our dishes are cooked with only the freshest of ingredients from the market and imported top quality products in order to match the taste of our highly international clientele. This method is not cheap as the import tax are rather high making the purchases more expensive. Together with the good portions we serve, the entertainment and the atmosphere, we believe that the prices are not excessive.
Thank you for letting us know your experiences throughout the resort and we will continue to put our efforts in the services and special and individual attention to our guests.

We spent 3 days in the Furama resort, kicking off our trip to Vietnam. Although my bag was lost at the airport, the hotel staff were wonderful in helping me to locate it and deliver it to my room.

The room itself (we had a Garden Deluxe) was gorgeous, and the grounds had all the amenities you could need (pools, beach cabanas, tennis courts, water sports, billiards, ATM on site). We booked a snorkeling trip through the hotel, and though there wasn't a ton to see (comparing to the Great Barrier Reef, keep in mind), it was still a fun morning activity.

We also booked massages at the spa. Definitely book in advance as they seem to fill up very quickly!

Breakfast was amazing--my favorite buffet breakfast so far on the trip, and included in the room.

Cocktails were really disappointing, and prices were high, but I guess that's expected when you stay on site at a 5 star resort. Definitely recommend getting lunch and dinner in town.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this resort to anyone going to Da Nang.

Dear Becca K.
It is great to hear that your 3 days at our Resort to kick off your trip to Vietnam has been wonderful. Especially so as you used most of our facilities from the restaurants, bars, fitness, sports center, pools, tennis etc. It is true, the Furama Resorts has the widest range of facilities on offer of any resorts on the Danang Beach. With the addition of the 3 special nights of cultural and traditional nights at our newly opened Steakhouse "The Fan" (now already No1 on Trip Advisor!) our guests have the chance to experience truly special promotions and activities during the whole day. We took note of your comments on the high prices and are constantly offering special discounts and promotions in all our outlets.
Thank you again for your great review and we surely would be delighted to welcoming you back to our beautiful resort in the near future.

Felt very welcome at check in, cold towels and refreshing cocktail were well received. We were not too keen on having our photos taken for the hotel records having just travelled for 26 hours and not looking our best though. (I don't know if this is only for guests who book with Saga) We were shown to our room, which although quite dark, had a wonderful view of the lagoon pool and tropical gardens. The room was very spacious with huge comfortable bed, dressing area and large bathroom. There was a good selection of toiletries in addition to dressing gowns, slippers, umbrella, beach bag and hats. Tea and coffee making facilities were replenished daily along with bottled water. On close inspection the bathroom was quite tired but it was serviceable.

Free wifi was available in both the hotel and on the beach.

Both pools were beautifully kept, as were the gardens. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the rusty tables at the poolside restaurant - hardly 5 star - and the whole 2 weeks we were there the noise from the building work was horrendous. When we arrived the new Steak House was under construction. The fitting of the metal roof meant days of angle grinding and banging. Added to that, building work then commenced in the room above the main restaurant which was then closed at lunch times. This building work involved the noise of pneumatic drills for the rest of the duration of our stay. Then work started on the roof of the sea front rooms and finally the shower block next to the pool bar. There was no escape from the noise which was hugely disappointing for us as this was one of the most expensive holidays we have ever been on. We had expected tranquility and paradise and couldn't have been more disappointed.

Being Saga guests on an all inclusive basis we also were made to feel like second class guests. We were given special menus which were quite limited and as we do not eat seafood sometimes had difficulty in finding things we like. We were also disappointed at the large amount of western food on offer and lack of Vietnamese cuisine. The Saga lunch menu quickly became repetitive.

This was definitely not the 5 star experience we had anticipated or paid for.

Room Tip: Sea view is lovely but the higher rooms with lagoon view are just as good

Dear Tazzat7,
Although your review reaches us with many months of delay, we would like to thank you for giving us your thoughts on your stay back in March this year.
We are happy to hear that the facilities and services were generally very satisfactory. Let me answer your negative reviews as follows:
Photo taking on arrival: We take photos of all our VIP and long staying guests which are then distributed to all the departments for guest recognition.
The noise from maintenance works was temporary but happening right during the full length of your stay for which we are truly sorry. Unfortunately our hotel is aging and needs some upgrading which is unfortunately not noise free at any hotel. This is made for the improvement of our facilities and comfort of our guests.
In regards to the menus, those have been chosen by SAGA and we would be happy to change the menus should the request be there. we certainly will take this matter up with SAGA and propose an expanded local touch to the menus.
Thank you again for writing this review which will be giving us a chance to upgrade and personalize our services.

Dear Phil K.,
It is truly great to hear that your stay with us turned out to be "superb".
We are focusing on guest services and personalized attention at all times and it seems that our efforts are more and more appreciated and commented.
Our staff undergo a rigorous training program both in English Language and personalized services both of which are continuously monitored and corrected where necessary.
The rooms are rather large with a minimum of 43 m2 and up, all with a private balcony, which gives a good feeling and allows our guests to feel relaxed at anytime they are in their room.
It is true that our location is probably the best of all since we were also the first international 5* resort on this magnificent beach and provide a width of at least 150-200 meters before reaching the sea water.
Three truly unique restaurants offering local, regional and international dishes including the Fan Steakhouse which is located right on the beach and offering cultural and traditional shows three times per week give our guests a variety of mouthwatering dishes and atmospheres to choose from.
My team and I are all delighted to giving a truly special holiday to any of our future guests.
Thank you and hope to get the pleasure of welcoming you back here soon again.
