I stayed in a ocean view room. Everything is perfect as the size is big, the bathroom is transparent and I can look outside when having bubble bath, the bed is comfy...nothing to complain about except the air-con will not work if you don't close the balcony door properly. I had lunch in the restaurant near the pool which was so so, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The pool looks nice but not really for swimming as the pool is zigzag. The highlight of my stay was the beach with smooth white sand and clear sea water. I would recommend this resorts to my friends.

We stayed 5 days in the 2-bedroom residence with our teenaged kids and this resort is quieter than many Hyatt properties we have visited. There are several pools and the kids area with a sand area by the pool is separate from other sections. The staff are very pleasant and eager to please, though there are a few that seem rather new on the job. The breakfast is well done but the selection for lunch and dinner is somewhat limited - the food is quite similar at the 2-3 restaurants open at night. If you don't eat at Hyatt, you need to cab into Hoi An and back as Da Nang is pretty hopeless for food.
The pool attendants need to look out for bad behaviors and stop guests as such - nearly freaked out when a man coughed and spat into the pool, just 3 feet away from the attendant who either did not notice or did not want to do anything about it.

I guess it was always going to be hard for me not to give a good review after they upgraded me and my family to a 3BR beach front villa with private lap pool from the 3BR apartment I had booked! However I have to say that it was difficult to find any major fault during our 1 week stay.
Check in was smooth and as mentioned we got a free upgrade and early check in.
The villa was just stunning, right on the beach, well appointed and extremely roomy, given there were 3 adults and 3 children in our party. I understand that the resort is two years old and as such I think they will need to keep on top of maintenance as there were signs of wear and tear and also several equipment failures ( A/C and hot water - both promptly fixed).
The swimming at this resort was the highlight, great pools and near deserted clean and calm beach, perfect for young kids.
The food was great, with the highlight bring the beach house traditional Vietnamese set menu. I have eaten a lot of Vietnamese food and have not found anything comparable. Simply amazing. You do pay a premium for food at the resort but it is no more than what I normally pay in Australia outside a resort. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. I really enjoyed the variety and although having a roast pork with crackling is a little weird at breakfast, I loved it. Special mention for the pastries and pan cake / waffle / French toast station - delicious! Room service was of a high standard and very tasty. Pasta in the green room was made fresh and was delicious. The only negative on the food front was the seafood buffet in the pool house. It was average tasting and quite expensive.
My two kids attended kids club which was well run by a group of lovely women.
All up a great stay and I can confidently say we will be back.

We decided to stay at the Hyatt for a night before traveling onto Hue/Hoi An, and it was a beautiful hotel. The property is very new (2yrs?) and the staff is still in training as well. However, everywhere we went, we were greeted with smiles and a genuine concern to help. We had access to the Regency Club room which had awesome happy hour drinks, snacks, breakfast and staff. They helped us books a private taxi to Hue and they were very professional the whole time. Though at times some things were lost in translation, I have to say the staff was stellar.

The property is magnificent, but lacks culture and charm (if that's what you are looking for). It's pretty much a very clean and nice mega-resort and the beach views are amazing. Our room was supposedly "sea view" but it was only visible if we stand at an angle, which was fine with us as we were only staying there for a night. My only real complaint was the bed...i woke up with a sore back which was quickly fixed at the spa. Not sure if I'm just used to a softer bed at home, but I'm pretty sure the mattress was a bit too firm. Tried out the spa and restaurants and they were both beyond expectations, good food, good massage in a private room pretty much a perfect way to start off our vacay. The restaurant (Beach Bar?) air conditioning was broken, which made eating that yummy bowl of hot pho a bit harder, but manageable. The pools were magnificent, though they were hot ( a common problem in all the hotels we stayed at) but you can float/swim around the fountains and under the bridges.

Overall, this hotel is very classy, nice, and clean. It's a perfect place to hole up for a couple of days, veg out on the beach, and eat nice hotel food. But, it doesn't scream Vietnam, and the staff could use a bit more training, and it's not close to street food and local culture.

Room Tip: Pay and ask for an ocean view room and make sure its a FULL ocean view room, SPA is awesome

We had originally planned to stay here for 4 nights, but ended up extending our stay to 7 nights to avoid the haze which was enveloping Singapore.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by name by the GM and his staff, and ushered to the Regency Club for our check in and welcome drinks. I was pleasantly surprised to find out we had been upgraded to an executive suite, which was absolutely stunning. It had fantastic views of the ocean and the pool, although it was a bit of a walk to the lobby and Regency Club.

Regency Club: good selection at breakfast and evening snacks. The children enjoyed the food there, and the private pool at the Regency Club. I only wish they had vietnamese coffee! There were days we just ate the snacks for dinner.

Room: the executive suite was stunning, and huge, and it was perfect for us since we spent almost a week there. The mattress was a bit hard, and we had problems using the high tech switches, but otherwise, everything was good. I loved the modern/resort decor.

Food: We had lunch in on most days, and the menu was sufficiently varied that we did not feel bored. It may seem expensive if one uses VIetnamese standards, but I found the prices very reasonable for hotel food. Kids meals were less than SGD6, and adult meals mostly cost between SGD 12 - 25, depending on what we ordered. The quality and service of the food were good and left us happy.

Service: the vietnamese are friendly people and we were greeted with a smile wherever we went. If there was an issue which needed to be addressed, guest services dealt with it promptly. My daughter had some scrapes on her knee and guest services came over to our room with a first aid kit to help us out. Some of the housekeeping staff had problems communicating in English, but the frontline staff (bell boy, concierge, reception, waiters) were fine. Special mention must be given to the GM, Zulki Othman, who made it a point to chat with guests to see how we were doing almost everyday. The Regency Club Staff were also extremely helpful when we needed assistance extending our stay and re-arrangeing our flights.

Others: The beach is clean and kid-friendly too. I only wish there were some cabanas or more shaded areas so guests could take shelter in the blistering heat. The pools were fun and clean, and the lifeguards were happy to lend us some swimming floats and balls to entertain the kids. The wifi was faultless, the spa and gym were good and well-equipped.

Overall, we had a great stay at the Hyatt Da Nang and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed beach holiday! Go now, before it starts teeming with the rest of the world.

We only stayed 2 nights, 3 days at the Hyatt Regency at the end of our trip and would have loved a few extra days to relax after visiting Saigon and Hanoi. We stayed in the Regency Club King room and liked the fact that it was away from the main areas where alot of the families with children were staying. Our room was very quiet and private which was perfect and the bathroom/shower was large and had a fabulous view too! All the staff were friendly and welcoming especially in the Club Lounge. We had a great first night at the Pool House and enjoyed drinks and food along with the best nights entertainment by a male singer/guitarist and female singer. Thoroughly entertaining and the best variety of songs we have heard in a long time. The Pool House Manager stopped at our table to welcome us which was nice too.
On our last morning we discovered the Baguette and Terrasse coffee shop which is at the front of the resort which isn't very well advertised. We enjoyed a lovely morning tea there and were also welcomed by the cafe Manager. The free shuttle bus to Hoi An was a bonus as we had a really great day walking around and discovering this ancient town and buying last minute gifts. The beach at Da Nang is big, beautiful and clean and surprisingly very few people were on it when we stayed there. We enjoyed a very tranquil walk by ourselves, a great way to end our trip to Vietnam.

We stayed at the Hyatt regency for 5 nights in a suite overlooking the beach pool and beach. The room was impeccable beautifully appointed, spacious and luxurious. The staff were very nice and always smiling and willing to help. The bathroom had the most amazing bath and rain shower/adjustable shower. There are several pools but the beach pool was the closest to us and great for children, ranges from extremely shallow to about 1.3 metres. The prices for things are pretty expensive for Vietnam, and this was mostly reflected in the food which was more western than vietnamese. By comparison hoi an had superb traditional food, and I think that dedicating one of the resturants on the premises to classic vietnamese cuisine street style would be good for visitors like ourselves who would not mind paying a premium.
