Owner description: Danang Golf Club is situated on the fledgling central coast of Vietnam amid 150 hectares of dunescape similar to what the world’s first golf courses were carved from. Its chief feature is a 7,160-yard, 18-hole, links-style layout that was designed in the true spirit of the game — blown-out bunkers, firm and fast fairways that bleed gently into wild seaside vegetation, rugged waste areas, swales and hollows — by Australian golf legend and former world No. 1 Greg Norman. It lies in close proximity to two of Vietnam’s most historic destinations — UNESCO World Heritage sites Hoi An and Hue — and offers breathtaking views of the Marble Mountains, East Sea and Cham Islands.

“Great golf course”

The design was spectacular, difficult but reasonable, just stay on fairway and stay off the desert grounds. Par 3 #17 was incredibly beautiful, you can see the beach once you are on the green!

“Golfer paradise.......”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

Played 18 holes the first time with a cart and caddie, the best way to play. Scenic course and challenging. The par 5 s are huge, and the best hole is the par 3- 16thhole- bring your camera . Nice restaurant and bar facilities and plenty to purchase from the pro shop. If you love golf and you're in danang, you must at least come for a beer

We really loved this course and the set up.

The Service was excellent and the Clubhouse wonderful but the caddies made it for us - they were knowledgeable and fun as well.

The course itself is really challenging (especially the greens) but really good fun too.

This is a truly lovely course. Opened in 2010, the facilities are first rate. Tough course for beginners (I am one) but very enjoyable. Caddies are excellent, as was my Vietnamese instructor. Hired clubs which were pretty much brand new. Also used the driving range quite a bit, which has a lovely mountainous backdrop. Chose this course following Reading Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed.

“Must play course in Asia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

By contrast with the majority of Asia’s golf courses, Danang boasts magnificent fast-running couch grass fairways and huge undulating Tiff Dwarf greens that claim to be ‘the fastest in Asia’. Whilst there’s plenty of sand with several huge ‘waste’ bunkers, this is not a penal nor unduly difficult Greg Norman course, and again, unlike other Asian courses, the fairways are not bounded by impenetrable jungle, but rather by rough that offers recovery options from a bare sandy lie. The firm, wide fairways and bunkers cut right into the greens amongst natural sand dunes create the kind of sporty golf much loved by links enthusiasts or those familiar with Melbourne’s famed Sand Belt.

Norman’s designer Harley Kruse has extracted much from this excellent site, a highlight for me was the greenside bunkering that often calls for a risky shot that then utilises the slope of the green to trickle down to the pin.

The course’s signature par-3 16th hole backs onto a pristine white beach with views of the Cham Islands in the distance. A visit to these islands affords a cultural journey and the opportunity to snorkel amongst coral and feast on land-dwelling crabs.
