Owner description: Danang Golf Club is situated on the fledgling central coast of Vietnam amid 150 hectares of dunescape similar to what the world’s first golf courses were carved from. Its chief feature is a 7,160-yard, 18-hole, links-style layout that was designed in the true spirit of the game — blown-out bunkers, firm and fast fairways that bleed gently into wild seaside vegetation, rugged waste areas, swales and hollows — by Australian golf legend and former world No. 1 Greg Norman. It lies in close proximity to two of Vietnam’s most historic destinations — UNESCO World Heritage sites Hoi An and Hue — and offers breathtaking views of the Marble Mountains, East Sea and Cham Islands.

Great course, go early as the heat is HOT. There are refreshments all around the course, very enjoyable and very challenging.

“Really Challenging Golf Course”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Played this course twice in a week and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Superb service, great caddies, delicious food at reasonable prices, high quality amenities and most importantly a great course. Warning - the greens are lightning and be prepared to 3 or even 4 putt! Challenging links style course with the 16th providing a stunning view. Get the camera ready. Also played Montgomerie Links, but Danang is a much better all-round experience and well worth playing. The lower handicap golfer will love this course.

“Fits The Scene”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

This course was beautiful. Hard no doubt, the day I played the 20 kt winds meant my wedge went anywhere from 70 - 130 yards.

The way that the bunkers (plenty of them) matched into the rough yet were a vast contrast from the well manicured fairway was typical of Norman design. 1st course I played in Nam and it certainly set the benchmark.

Greens were lightning! Tough greens, I 3 putted many holes and 4 putted 1! Did not read the speed at all. Caddy reads were hit and miss. If you are serious about golf you dont use them anyway. Me - I dont really care and turn it into a joke when the ball goes the other way.

If you're a hacker (the day I played I was in this category) you will struggle. If you play off around 20 or better you will enjoy this course for sure. Long shots are required. Found myself regularly hitting a 4 iron second shot on par 4's after a half decent drive. The 16th par 3 is impressive with the background which on the day I played sounded fearsome. About a 6 iron.

Couple of kiosks along the way were welcomed by me. By the time I got to the 1st one a beer was definitely required. The carts have esky's on the side with ice which is just what I needed. For those who have not played in Vietnam the best feature is you don't need cash on the course (except caddy tip). Everything just gets charged to your number and you pay at the end.

Locker facilities were nice. I have seen better but no complaints.

Watch your step on the way down I saw a Korean woman go (inset text here) up and smacked her head on the concrete. Not a good start.

Caddy's are cute! Enjoy
