“good deal for amazing view from window”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

We booked a standard room at the hotel visa hotels.com and stayed for 3 nights. When we arrived we were suprisingly granted room on top floor with amazing view on the beach. Room was spacious and comfortable, good choice of channels as well. It is very close to the beach which was great. The only disadvantage was the bathroom which wasn't clean enough but overall standard is ok. Staff was friendly and helpful, also with tourist attractions. Breakfast had big choice. There is almost no shops in the beach area, you have to go to city to be able to buy anything, which forced us to eat every meal in the beach area. The most disturbing thing aside of the beautiful beach were unfortunately rats, we saw many of them running across the pavements and streets especially in the evnings, but they also appeared during days. Never on the beach and never in the hotel, but could observe them while standing in front of the hotel.

After reviewing tens of hotels in Da Nang close to the long beach, we were almost resigned to this middle-range hotel, since it seemed enough close to the beach although with no frills. We booked it for three nights.
Our experience was completely different from our expectancy:
1. Deluxe room has a very nice view on the bay;
2. Breakfast was wonderful. We have been three times in Vietnam, and this is one of the best breakfast we had; it is a pure viet-style breakfast and food is really delicious;
3. The hotel has not a private beach, but it is possible renting umbrella and chair for 20000 vnd;
4. The beach is very long, clean and with gold sand...and it is uncrowded for most part of the day;
5. Last but not least, the staff and the owner are so kind, helpful and friendly.
In sum, we enjoyed staying in this hotel, and extended our accomodation for two days more.
We strongly suggest this hotel to everyone looks for a middle-range accomodation in Da Nang, needing staying on the beach. At the end, they also provided a discounted transport to Hoi An.

Room Tip: Pay some dollars more and choose a deluxe room with ocean view!

its a decent bargain compared to other B&B and inns. The rooms re clean and well appointed. The staff were warm but not well informed about tourism in the area. The breakfast could have been better(includes cleanliness too)!

Paid 400k dong for a room, breakfast is an additional 60k dong, which wasn't appetising. Went to the road behind the hotel for a cheap Vietnamese breakfast. Room was decent, with a/c and hot water shower. Laundry was expensive as you were charged on a per piece basis. Staff spoke poor English, enough to check you in.

Step clutch motorcycles available for rent at 150,000 dong. It was rather pricey given the condition of the motorcycle.

I think 4-5 rating for this place is a bit over the top - too many people rating an ok place where nothing went wrong as being outstanding!
Staff were friendly, but weren't all that great at proactively advising about things - e.g. they didn't tell us about where/when breakfast was, until we asked on the 2nd day. When we got to the breakfast room (in the "Grand Mango Hotel" 2 doors down), it appeared to be just a buffet and the two staff working there didn't say anything... it wasn't until the third day that we asked about whether anything else was available, as we saw other people eating an omelette.
The aircon filter in the room was filthy and causing the aircon to make a lot of noise (I cleaned it myself to make it quiet).
Be careful about which room you get - booking through Agoda we got a rear-facing one with a tiny little window high up, so the room was quite dark.
The location quality depends what you're after. The beach is just across the road, there is an Aussie bar a couple of doors down, an expensive seafood restaurant across the road, and a cheaper restaurant next door to that. That's it though - if you want any more action, you need to get a cab or ride a scooter.
Speaking about scooters, that and the laundry are overpriced here. They charged us 200,000dong per day for an old automatic scooter (which they replaced on the 2nd day - it didn't feel safe - didn't want to ride in a straight line!), price other places seemed to be half that. Their laundry is charged like top-end hotels, on a per item basis, which would make for a VERY expensive load of washing. Everywhere else in Vietnam charges $1/kilo.

Room Tip: If you don't want a dark room with one tiny little window you can't see out of, make sure yo...

The beach is just around the corner and a very easy walk, very convenient. The beach is absolutely amazing with warm water, soft sand and nice, but not overwhelming surf.
Budget food is a bit further away and might require some walking.

The room was fairly nice with a refrigerator, closet, bedside table, chairs and a coffee table. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The room was stocked with some reasonably priced snacks and a tea kettle.

The staff was genuinely friendly and eager to help, but not very aware of guest temperament as the receptionist tried to have an in depth conversation with us about leaving as we arrived very tired and stressed from a 15 hour overnight train. They are able to arrange fairly priced transport into Hanoi.

My wife and I stayed at the Mango for two days when we visited Hoi An.The Hotel is only a short taxi away.I had asked prior to our visit if we could have a room with a sea view.When we arrived We were given a front facing room on the 5th floor and it was amazing with a panoramic view of china beach.This for an extra 5 dollars which was an absolute bargain.The staff at the Hotel were brilliant nothing being too much trouble for them.Breakfast at the new Grand Mango a couple of doors away was very good which added to the Hotels amazing value.The hotel is yards from the beach and a nearby Hotel served excellent food.All in all would definately recommend the Mango.
