“Fusion Maia- A different experience altogether. Probably the first time we would err on a 5 ½ star experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

It would be churlish to make any adverse comments as anything constructive we might say is out of the hands of owners/management of this property.
We stayed 4 nights having been recommended over 2 years ago when it had just opened. Any TA reviews that highlighted constructive comments have been taken on board and we found the experience heavenly.
We had a pool villa to die for with 4 poster bed, lounge, his/her bathroom, double seated bath, shower etc. The pool was well used during our time there and coming from England was lovely and warm for us!
We used the pool bar for lunch, drinks and one evening meal. The food and drinks were of high standards and were comparable to what you would expect to pay in any 5 star hotel (I did remedy an error of a £43 gin and tonic but do read your check before you sign for it. It actually cost less than £4 after query).
The main restaurant was used for one of the best varied breakfasts you will find anywhere. There are selected luxury items you can add to each breakfast which I am sure you will find fun!
Michelle the GM and her management staff were always available and keen to gather feedback as well as update guests on what the hotel group were planning in future. There was very little we would change about our stay.
Each day your package includes 2 treatments which comprise about 90 minutes. We enjoyed his and hers treatments. You can choose the strength of your massage as well as the type of oil.
The treatment rooms were classy and immaculate (as per the whole resort really) and the staff hard working, if a little lacking in English skills. We were told that the staff had English lessons and this was evident with the waiting and reception staff. The Spa staff less so given the need for serenity! We spent ages chatting with staff that were keen to improve their English and obviously to interact with the guests.

The property itself is low rise along China beach just outside of the city of Da Nang. Outside the front is the old US Air base, still with walls and concrete aircraft hangars. Go before it gets too built up!
Beside the resort of 80 or so rooms there are some imposing Las Vegas resort hotels which were not to our liking. Thank goodness we chose Fusion Maia. The beach is endless silver sand for miles each way and we saw sunrise each morning from the beach. At this time of year (December) the South China Sea is a bit rough so walking and paddling was our only (if delightful) option.
A lovely touch at Fusion Maia, is the courtesy bus to Hoi An, a gorgeous lantern adorned town about 30 minutes drive away.
The first bus goes at 0930 (don’t forget to book) and was full when we went although cabs are plentiful and possibly a second 12 seater bus could be laid on.
The bus drops you at The Fusion lounge (in Hoi An obviously) by the river, where we had pre-booked our breakfast for 1000 (you can have breakfast anywhere/anytime on resort or at the lounge).
We had a wonderful breakfast chosen from their set/a la carte menu which set us up for visits to shops and the market in town. Whilst we didn’t, we could have borrowed bikes from the lounge to see the town.
Whilst in Hoi An we had clothes and shoes made and arranged to pick them up 24 hours later. Every one we dealt with was there on time, as agreed, smiling and produced good quality goods. This sums up how we found the Vietnamese people, happy, humorous and hard working.
We visited Hoi An at night on two occasions and caught the last bus back (2130 pickup) from the Fusion lounge to collect our goods as well as dine at Cargo which in on the Fusion Maia recommended list, which they provide guests with.
The only thing I would say about Fusion Maia is that if it were in Hoi An it would warrant even more superlatives. As it is, the company is opening a property in Hoi An in 2014 but not sure if it is the Fusion concept that Maia provides so well.

We dined in the main hotel dining room on one night, al fresco, and enjoyed the food, the service and the ambience.
Our time at Fusion Maia flew by and we would recommend this place to anyone touring the country to make the effort to include this on your itinerary.
Da Nang has a modern efficient Airport about 15 mins away with efficient Vietnam Airlines Airbuses so there are no excuses not to go!

I only stayed in the Fusion Maria for an overnight stay. It was only 15 minutes drive away from the Da-Nang airport. This hotel resort comprises 80 spacious stylishly decorated pool villas, 4 spa villas and 3 luxurious beachfront villas - I was booked a pool villa room.

Modelled on the emperor's Hue's Forbidden City residence, the Fusion Maia Resort has set itself high standards. The emperor's living quarters were in a square configuration surrounding the imperial palace, where dignitaries would gather to socialise and dine a design mimicked by this stylish hotel. Fusion Maia is Asia's first resort with all-inclusive spa and boasts the largest spa of central Vietnam. Most irresistibly, all spa services including massage beauty and body treatments are already included in the room rate. You can have two treatments per day! Alas I did not have an opportunity to use them as my originally planned following morning of leisure had been changed to a half day trip to Hoi An which I have wanted to visit after having read about it in a guide book.

My huge deluxe room with its lavish bathroom and a private pool was mind boggling –it had simply to be the most luxurious room I have stayed in and I already felt sad that I was only booked in for one night.

Feeling as though I had entered a dream world I had a quick look around the beautiful resort with its spa pool with a waterfall, library, yoga room, steam and sauna rooms before having an exquisitely presented dinner at the Five restaurant. I had wok fried chicken noodles with mushrooms followed by fried bananas. It was after 10.00 before I went back to my little bit of heaven in Da Nang

The following morning I arose around 7am after the best sleep I have had yet during my Vietnamese holiday, hardly surprising considering my surroundings. I got up and started the day in my private wonderful hot bath which was literally the size of a small swimming pool! It was terribly windy but very sunny – this is typical weather for Central Vietnam at this time of the year. The best time for a visit is around late March and April, when the rains are abating but it is not yet overwhelmingly hot.

I had a lovely breakfast in the same restaurant - fresh tropical fruit, a ham omelette, croissants and yoghurts. I was most amused to read a note saying that you can have breakfast any time and any place such as on the beach or in the spa gardens. I would love to come back for a beach holiday here but that is a case of wishful thinking unless I end up living in South East Asia. It seems as though this hotel makes ones dreams come true.

One night is definately too short! Look forward to welcoming you back for at least a week to enjoy your "dream" hotel a little bit more.

We stayed here for a full week and had half board in a pool villa including all treatments and activities. Every day yoga classes twice a day, a library, great massages (especially the thai and uplifting warm pressure). The masseuses are very well trained, if you like strong massages make sure you book a male masseuse. The food is amazing, great kitchen and lots of choice, you need a week to try it all! We also did a tour to an orphanage house, the hotel supports them, it was very inpressive to see. Also try the warm blondie chocolate dessert!!

Great to hear you enjoyed the daily yoga classes. We are so proud of our Vietnamese yogis that have been certified by the International Yoga Alliance! We'll be sure to pass on the "blondie" compliments to the chef!

We spent 6 nights as part of our Vietnam honeymoon and had a glorious time. The weather was not amazing yet we didn't care. The staff are above standard in service and friendliness always acknowledging you in conversation and genuine care and interest. The spa comes as a package and the treatments are glorious. Food is 5 star and many choices breakfast is an event and you want yo try all of it. Glad we chose the fusion.

So excited to hear you had a glorious time for your honeymoon! Isn't it so easy to hide away in the spa if the weather is not perfect?!

I stayed in Fusion Maia Resort for a night. Though the hotel rate is quite high (around US450), I can say it is worth it! It includes the pool villa and the massage service for two persons. The massage is really fantastic.

We stayed in this hotel spa during our trip in central Vietnam for 3 nights. The room, actually it was a pool villa was very spacious, modern, with all comfort and of course a large private pool. The service was excellent. The spa services were included in the room, so we enjoyed the spa every day. The hotel has a complementary shuttle bus to Hoi an which we recommend you to visit. It is really an adorable place to go. The breakfast also served is wonderful. We highly recommend!

My wife & I went here for our anniversary break on recommendation & thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
The resort buildings & surrounds are luxurious but discrete in comparison to the other mega resorts along that stretch of beach. The entire complex feels like a contemporary retreat, with quiet spaces, refined detailing and materials, and beautiful furnishings. The private walled garden and pool for each suite are great for those looking for privacy.
The two restaurants on site are great, serving fresh tasty food. Breakfast options were also excellent, with options for buffet or a la carte. Staff were all very friendly and attentive, and all guests are assigned a 'fushionista' who is on hand to help with any arrangements.
One of the best parts of our stay was the Spa experience. The complimentary spa treatments are incredible & without doubt the massages are the best we have ever had. Our masseurs were very professional, highly skilled and able to adjust pressure to our preferences.
All up one of the most relaxing and luxurious experiences I have had in Vietnam. We will certainly look forward to coming back!
