Stayed here for three days in April. I think this place is an average property made special by the management. Love the breakfast - overall good spa, lovely room (though a bit noisy - given it was just next to the parking - so one could constantly hear some chatter around)

Occupancy was close to 100% when we were there so that added some pressure to the spa bookings - but still overall brilliant.

The best thing is the way the property is managed and Michelle and team do a brilliant job doing it. Breakfast on the beach as recommended by others is a must do

Good swimming pool and beach. Will definitely be back

Room Tip: Request a room closer to the pool / beach

We had seen photos of this hotel via a friend's FB page which proved the starting point for us planning our first trip to Vietnam.
After touring the country for 9 days, we stayed here for 11 days, 9 of which were absolutely blissful.
The rooms provide the instant wow factor, they're clean, the bed is huge and very comfortable and, like everyone else, the fact you have your own little pool outside is really lovely.
What made Fusion Maia so special for us were undoubtedly the staff. From reception, to restaurant and bar staff and especially all the staff in the spa, they should all be the template for staff around the world to learn a trick or two!
I absolutely echo everyone's comments and we would go back in a heartbeat.
We loved the fact that it was slightly away from the hustle of daily life, the shuttle bus overcomes that issue if you wish.
The one huge word of warning I would add for Western visitors is to avoid at any cost Vietnamese holidays. Leading up to the national independance day of 30th April, the previous few days saw the resort filling up with Vietnamese families ready to have a good time.
However, their behaviour is so much in contrast to the image the hotel wants to promote (zen like, relaxing, peaceful). Guests smoking in the rooms where the smell comes through the vents into your villa, or smoking on the passages outside the restaurant, extensive use of telephones wherever, whenever without any discretion or care for other guests, young children running amoc through the restaurant.
Beware of those times - your experience of chilling by the pool or on the beach will be seriously hampered if you happen to arrive when the majority of guests are wealthy business people from Hanoi or Saigon.
Check your diaries properly and chose dates when there are no national celebrations.
I feel almost guilty having to write this, as there is nothing the staff were not prepared to do to make our experience the best it could be.
The service and quality of spa treatments was superb. Talk about special ailments and the whole team will be made aware and they look after you fantastically well.

Room Tip: Our room was in the first cluster on the right hand side when walking down towards the pool. No nois...

My opinion exactly matches the overall ratings for Fusion Maia. I felt very welcome upon arriving. The room was fantastic with a private pool, big bathroom, super comfortable bed, free WIFI, and so on. The spa was fine and both of my massages were adequate. I did not use the public pool or meander onto the beach as it was very windy when I arrived and in fact it rained that evening (I stayed only one night). Breakfast was super. So, why am I giving this resort a 4 instead of a 5? $400 a night. For what I experienced (which was fantastic) I expected to not need to pay for anything additional (for example, shuttle to the airport/train station, or having the option of an inclusive lunch and dinner buffet as well as the option of paying at the local restaurant when I wanted the option of grabbing something to eat at the hotel). I have been to all inclusive resorts and cruises in which you can at least shlep down to the "all day pizza bar" section and fill up on slices of pizza or lounge by the pool with constant free refills of local beer/wine, for much less than $400 a night. But it is a minor quibble, especially when you know in advance that you WILL be paying for your transportation to/from the hotel *except for the free shuttle to Hoi An* and you WILL be paying for all food/drinks served by the hotel other than the breakfast buffet. If you still think $400 a night is fine for a fantastic place on the beach with 2 free spa treatments and a nice room with a private pool, go for it! $300 a night would have gotten 5 stars from me, but I guess 4 stars is not too shabby.

Thank you for the time taken for your review. We appreciate your positive feedback about our facilities and services offered. The spa-inclusive concept is really about ultimate relaxation, and this is not a value that can be measured by an included spa treatment or a private pool villa alone, but what is important to us, is how relaxed you feel at the end of your stay.

Our stay at the Fusion Maia was the ultimate experience. All we wanted was just "do nothing" as in laze by the beach or the villa's pool or simply lie down at the spa. The weather in April was not all sunny as it rained daily from around 3 pm. The all-inclusive breakfast and spa took our breath away. We managed to squeeze four treatments on two of the five days there and we were free to enjoy breakfast at anytime of the day anywhere within the resort. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Incase you intend to bring US dollars, do ensure that you have with you the "New Series" notes. US dollars that's printed prior to year 2000 is considered "old series" and are not accepted at hotels and casino or some tailors in Hoi An. The free shuttle offered by the resort to Hoi An is a plus as it gives you an option to dine and tour around Hoi An. We are already planning our next retreat to the Fusion Maia. Try this resort at least once in your lifetime!

We stayed at this resort April 2013 for 8 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The private pool definately gives the room a "wow" factor, but we preferred to stay on the beach or around the main pool.
The rooms are very spacious, if not a little too sparse for our liking, but this is down to individual taste.
The spa is wonderful, and the staff were very helpful in arranging convenient times etc. In our opinion, the treatments were "top notch", of course much depends upon the individual therapist, but we were impressed. A special thanks to Miss Han and Miss Zin, and the girls at the front spa desk.
All of the staff at the Fusion Maia are, without exception, very friendly and efficient.
Apparently, everyone is allocated a "Fusionista" to assist them with their stay, but for some reason, we did not know who our Fusionista was, or maybe mis communicated. This really did not matter to us as we quite independent anyway, so no problem!
We had a half board package, which we would recommend, as we had the option to either take our meal at lunch or evening. We tended to have lunch at the hotel, and ate out in Hoi An in the evening.
We found the meals at the hotel to be very well presented, however a little limited and bland - again down to individual taste and not a criticsm of the hotel, although believe that the menus could be a little more adventurous and varied.
We took the shuttle bus into Hoi An most evenings, and the shuttle is well timed and organised.
The last shuttle leaves Hoi An at 10pm, which is actually ok as most places tend to close and wind down around this time. However, it was a shame that the hotel bar was completely empty at 10.30, and not very inviting for a nightcap.
The beach at the front of the hotel is very well maintained, although we were disappointed when we walked down the beach at the right of the hotel to discover that there are basically unfinished developments which hopefully will not spoil the Fusion Maia in the future.
We would recommend the cooking class at Morning Glory - the class is for the full morning, until around 12.30. It included a tour around Hoi An market, and an informative class of all abilities.
Also, a special thank you to the group from Cheltenham, who recommended the Sofitel in Hanoi as we had a horrendous 10 hour wait for our filght home. We thorougly enjoyed our bottle of bubbly, and of course the amazing view...!
All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much. However, for us, we felt the hotel to be a little too isolated for us, not being able to walk down the beach to other small bars, restaurants etc.
The main draw for this hotel is the spa - which, if you are seriously into your spa treatments, will be perfect for you.

Room Tip: All rooms are in a very good location - we were nearer the beach end, which we preferred.

It's so nice to read that you have had a lovely holiday. As the spa is really one of the highlights, we are particularly happy to pass on the compliments to the therapists that made your spa experience "top notch". We've started offering nightcaps at the poolside in the garden lit by lantern light and some creative tea & coffee cocktails....for your next visit!

We had a great trip and a wonderful relaxing weekend staying at a villa at Fusion Maia. Worlds away from everything else! The villa was set on the beach for some beautiful scenery. Loved the private pool too! The hospitality was great too. Not to mention the breakfast! Would recommend.

If your looking for a slice of luxury and somewhere to indulge yourself in spa treatments, but at an affordable price... then this is the place for you!! Its trendy, chic and set on a beautiful beach of white sand. I had 5 nights here and did not want to leave, the staff are what really make it special, from start to finish they always had a smile on their faces and nothing was ever too much trouble and made some good friends.

It was amazing to have the spa treatments included in the cost and the fact that you are guaranteed 2 per person, per day is just unbelievable...I would definitely recommend the facial and Thai Fusion Body Massage.!! They also have a good range of activities to get involved in on a daily basis, I tried the Tai Chi on Marble Mountain....was great fun!!

The food here was excellent, very well presented and really good variety to choose from and kept at reasonable prices. If you want to eat out Hoi An is only 25 minutes away and they offer a free shuttle bus which is fab as the latest one back is at 10pm. Hoi An is truly magical and worth a visit, oh and try the bicycle tour too!

The Villas are just lovely and spacious, the pool is actually a good size and very private too!

I could go on and on about how fabulous this place is, but I guess you wont really know until you go yourself....All I can say is that you will not regret it !!!!

Thank you to Fusion Maia for a faultless and very special stay !!! :)

Great to hear you enjoyed your stay and had a chance to try some of the more energetic Fusion Explorer activities. Minh, the fusionista for Tai Chi on marble mountain really enjoys sharing his passion on this trip so he'll be so happy to hear it was special! The bicycle excursion is also a fun way to see daily life in Hoi An off the beaten path. Hope to welcome you back again soon to try some of the other activities!
