“For Danang city, it is a great location with accidental 7th floor flood.”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

I stayed for all most a week. The breakfast was ok and the view was better. Staff was eager to help as best they could.

In the middle of the night a big thunder storm rolled in while I was sleeping. Flashes of lightening and thunder every few seconds. Rain was coming down in buckets so I sat up in bed and my feet were in 5 inches of water on the floor. I thought I was dreaming, I openned my room door to the hallway and water was flooding and flowing down the stairs and elevator door. What happened was the balcony drain was clogged up and when they openned the sliding door, 3 ft. of water came through and raised the water level in the room again. Water goes down hill and once the drains were unpluged, the water went down and so did I, to bed that is. The next day was sunny and I lost nothing to the flood since everything was off the floor, on the 7th flood.

You will like the room, the staff and the location. Tell Sam the bycicle taxi guy across the street Bob spelled backwards same same, I said Hi, He works hard for his money and a lot of fun, knows english and everything else to help you around town. Don't forget to tip everyone who helps you, you'll be glad you did. Have fun, great place to stay and big rooms. Oh and Don't drink the water, even in the shower, not good. Make sure boiled water for coffee or tea.

We stayed here after our train got into Da Nang around 11 at night, we had booked this room on lastminute.com. We chose this hotel fopr the price, and as advertised on lastminute.com there was 24 hour room service which would be good after our long train ride. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were not very pleasant and seemed pretty bothered to help us to our room. When we enquired about room service, we were told it had finished for the night (most of the kitchen staff were smoking in the lobby) and we could go to a number of resturants which would still be open on the street. Our room was clean enough, although the bed and the linen were very musty and it was obvious the room had often been smoked in (we had rquested a non-smoking room and were reassured that it was indeed a non-smoking room).
Breakfast was included in the room rate, the buffet was terrible, we got there around 8am (breakfast is from 6-930) and everything was cold, the heating was not turned on to keep the food warm and it was obvious most things had been sitting around for hours. The coffee was terrible. And to top it off the staff were unfriendly, did not even greet us on our arrival and it seemed like some of them were talking about us and laughing!
Save your money and stay somewhere else- this hotel is terrible.

The Da Nang Pacific is a bit like Da Nang itself -- not quite geared up for the western traveller's usual expectations. This review is coloured slightly by the fact that we were offered an upgrade when we arrived because the room we booked a few months back was not yet ready. In fairness, they did offer to put us back into the booked room but by then we'd already unpacked for a four night stay. While everything worked properly (toilet, shower, hot water, locks, etc.) the overall effect was, well, quirky. The bathroom was gloomy, the light that should have been wired up over the mirror was wired up facing the bedroom. Only one bedside table, the other side of the bed pushed up against the wardrobe. The aircon only worked when it wanted to (not that it was a problem during January temperatures). The fridge was on but not very cold. No room safe. The staff couldn't be more helpful despite the lack of English but I found that when they came to work early in the morning or left late at night, they all talked at each other at a single default volume (LOUD). The hotel was dead quiet between 12 and 6 but at other times the staff (or maybe the other Viet guests) and the noise from nearby street bars punctuated the silence somewhat. Then again, we were in Room 101 next to the laundry room so maybe that was a major factor. Again, we cannot complain about the helpfulness of the staff at the desk so I'm trying not to be unnecessarily negative. And, lets face it, I can;t remember what I paid on line but I don't think it was very much. As far as location is concerned, it was a 10 minute walk to the esplanande and the rather enjoyable Bamboo Bar and only a £3 taxi ride to China Beach. My advice, as with Da Nang town, is don't expect too much and its fine.

Room Tip: Try and avoid room 101

Good location in the middle of the city but still worth taxi-ing it to most places (very cheap). Room was big and spacious. The air conditioning stays at 18c no matter what setting you choose so we had to turn it on and off every few hours when it got too cold or too hot - the air conditioning was positioned right above my bed and hence one night, I actually caught a cold cos I fell asleep without turning it off (my family who was sleeping elsewhere in the room wanted it on)

Staff were friendly. They advertise 24 hour service and my brother tried it out and ordered 'Bun Bo Hue' at 2am in the morning, the room service guy was sleeping and still woke up to get it for him. There is 'in room' massage service for roughly 8USD but you get what you pay for, some middle aged lady comes in and really doesn't do much of a good job.

We booked a couple of nights in Pacific hotel and I cant say i was neither disappointed nor thrilled about the place. We got a room on the 3 floor with not much light coming in. Room was small but pretty clean which is a plus in budget hotels ( we payed $20 per night). Wifi was Ok although tv was a bit old. Probably the only let down was the noisy christmas songs played on a loop from the mobile shop downstairs which started pretty early in the morning. Earplugs, where are they when you need them? Breakfast-Bufette is served on the top floor and was not too bad and although I have seen better ones in Vietnam at least every morning they had different things.
Good thing is that after check out they did let us leave our bags in the lobby while we waited to catch the bus to Hoi an later that afternoon. They also arranged the ticket and transport to the bus station. Will I come back to this hotel? Maybe yes maybe not.

Room Tip: Get a room in 5 floor or even higher to avoid the annoying xmas songs from the mobile shop on the st...

The Hotel itself is quite good. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the rooms are spacious and clean, there is air con, mini fridge, a tub big enough for 2 in the bathroom and the beds are comfy. You are in the centre of Danang town so location wise perfect to be in the thick of it however as a tourist I would suggest staying nearer the beach for a more 'holiday' feel as it's not close by.
The staff at the hotel are polite enough but the overall feeling within Danang is that they don't really want tourism here. (We where told to [--] off several times by the locals on bikes including a small child!)
As we struggled to find somewhere to eat in the afternoon (it was a Sunday in which a lot of things are closed in Danang) we decided to order from the hotel room service. Beef Noodle soup arrived quickly but wasn't up to much. Tough fatty beef and a block of some unknown brown jelly.
It's quite noisy around the hotel with a bar next door but it seems to quiet off around 9pm so nothing to worry about.
Breakfast was terrible. Served from 6.30 - 9.30am we arrived just before 9am with little options. It was a buffet style and most of the plates/trays where empty but hadn't been taken away, you had option of a plain omelette or fried egg and some fruit that didn't look very fresh.
The coffee had been left on the hot plate but they had turned the hot plate off so was luke warm. When I asked for more they just brought more like warm over. The orange juice was just bizarre with a strange powdery substance at the bottom of it.
Also eating what little food there was whilst watching the waitress pick her nose and wipe her finger on the table cloth is not going to give a good impression.
On our return to our room the maids were already in the process of stripping down the room even though we were not due to check out for another 3 hours which was a little uncomfortable. They left when asked but took all the towels with them so we had to chase them down the hall and ask for them back.
All in all if you need a one night stop in Danang its not a bad place to stay but make sure you eat elsewhere.

The Pacific Hotel is the place you want to stay in Da Nang. This hotel is a great location for staying in Da Nang. It is located in the city center approximately 4 KMS from the beaches, The rooms are nice, clean, comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are smaller than what you would expect by western standards but larger by Vietnamese standards.

Ideal for single or double travelers, The rates are more than reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. They offer breakfast with your room although it leaves a lot to be desired. Breakfast is menu is limited food edible not exciting or tasty. It featured: eggs, toast, Pho (Vietnamese soup) toast, coffee, fried rice, seafood, chinese buns, no meat items, tea, juices, fuit items. I was very impress with service and the staff very knowledgable. Enjoy your stay.
