Description: Bread of Life has been serving quality, fresh and authentic Western food since 2005 and belongs to Jean-Luc Briastre a Frenchman who loves Vietnam. I bought Bread of Life Restaurant (BoL Restaurant) in 2015. My restaurant was founded by American missionaries to provide work to the hearing impaired and more recently, widowed mothers, and retired people with no pension. Bread of Life Restaurant operates like any other restaurant; our income depends entirely on our business. We are proud that we produce quality meals and service while also providing employment to persons who normally would not be considered employable. We thank you so much for helping us to continue to offer employment to our special population and employees, as well as convivial meeting place for Western ex-pats Vietnam.

This is not an all vegetarian restaurant, and generally I would not venture into this, but having read about it, it seemed the kind of place that had 'saatvik' written all over it. And we were not disappointed. How could we, when kathleen was our gracious hostess, showing us around the restaurant, the kitchen, the bakery, ntroducing her staff,a nd teaching us sign language and the wonderful world of silence in which these people live.

Besides the noble intentions and the wonderful execution, the food is truly outstanding. It is more of a cafe and snack place with a little bit for everyone. We had a veggie burger, fried eggplants on a bun, fries, excellent iced coffees, fresh juices, all with a lot of TLC. We rounded it off with the most delicious banana bread (toasted with butter) that I have ever had. And guess what? It ws Monday so it ws Lamington cake day! Well, I had no idea what is Lamington, until we literally saw it being baked in the kitchen and Kathleen explained its origins from Australia, and pronto we had a slice fesh from the oven. It was heavenly. But it is only made on Mondays, so make sure you are there on a Monday.

Well, if you are in Da Nang or Hoi An, this is the only place to eat.

Good self made bun, ok steak, average fillings. Basic american burger. I personally want burger to have some kind of sauce in it. Thats why this kind of dry burgers won`t work for me, sorry.

Banana split for dessert was very good. And carrot cake with ice cream was great also.

Pasta looked good, didn`t taste tough.

Went because of TripAdvisor. Disappointed. No atmosphere but it is for a good cause. The deaf workers are lovely.

A great break if you are craving some meat and a little tired of noodles and rice. Peaceful place, tasty food, great menu, just a little expensive.

We only had drinks to quench our thirst on a 30 degree C day, but the menu is extensive and you are helping a good cause. All the staff are deaf and learn to interact and get ahead in the hospitality field. They staff are fun and as long as you can point, and give the thumbs up, you will have no problem.
There is western food for those craving smoething from home.
