Upon arrival from our delayed flight into Da Nang and a long taxi ride into Hoi An we were greeted by the warm smiles of the ladies behind the desk at Hai Au Hotel. They were quick to check us into our room and told us they could run through a map and directions when we we're more settled in. Hai Au is located right on the edge of the Old town and about 7-10 mins walk to the centre. The room was lovely and it was great to have a hot shower over a bath as opposed to having a cold wash in the centre of the bathroom! (which is what we had become used to on our travels!)
Overall we were very happy staying here, we even extended our stay by one night. I have to say the service here is the best we've encountered on our 4 week holiday. The ladies behind the desk all know our names by heart and are always so happy to see us! Would highly recommend anyone to stay here. P.S. For travel to and from DaNang airport I would highly reccomend organising a taxi through the hotel. We winged it on the way here and it cost us VD100,000 more than it should have been... and that was a metered taxi!

We booked this hotel becaus of the good reviews at Tripadvisor, and it's all true. The hotel has a good location to go to the beach or old town and has cosy, spacy and clean rooms. We rented bikes at the hotel, so we could easily move around town. The staff is really kind and helpfull. They speak english very well, really try their best to make you feel at home and do anything to make your stay at Hoi An the best. They helped us out for booking for sightseeing tours in Hoi An and around, airplane tickets, and did bookings for a nice hotel in next location. The staff was the best we had in one month travel in Vietnam! Next time we are in Hoi An, we definitely go back to this hotel! We already miss it!

Firstly if you want the best service in Vietnam, you come here. Every person has a smile and speak excellent english, which helps loads. The rooms are huge, clean and very well presented (The 2 towel swans on the bed were a nice touch). The rooms included A/C, Sat TV, Fridge, Mosi nets, Balcony and a Hot shower! The Swimming pool looked nice but the beach is only 3 km away so we went there instead.
The staff did all the little things that make travelling easy, A big bag of washing for $3, booked our bus tickets with zero commission, hired a brand new moped for the same price as other dodgy places, let us use our towels down the beach!!
We stayed here over Christmas so paid a little over our budget, $26 per night per room, but this included all hidden charges and taxes that other hotels try to charge you, and it included a buffet breakfast with freshly made omlettes to your liking!! We shopped around loads and couldn't find a single hostel or 'Lonely Planet' Budget for under $20.
So if you want a place that you would spend $90-$110 a night in any western country for $26 this is your place.
Oh and if you want cheap taylor made clothes from Suits to Casual to Shoes, Hoi An has it all, by the bucket load>

Staff here is so great, front desk girls are so adorable! They organised our tours/flights extremely efficiently, and their english is much better than staff at other hotels. When my friend was sick with food poisoning, they kindly let us extend our checkout time to 4pm which was really appreciated.

Rooms were pretty standard. Food here is okay as well. Nothing that fantastic, but at the same time, price here is quite low.

However, internet had many problems throughout our stay which was very frustrating. Could also be a bit closer to the town centre, the 10-15 minute walk got boring very quick after the 2nd trip.
