After staying in many small rooms throughout vietnam, here the rooms were large as well as the beds, tea and coffee facilities were nice and fresh fruit on arrival! The room was light and the breakfast buffet in the morning allowed you to eat a nice variety of foods! The staff were lovely calling us by our names and giving us information about Hoi An! It located slightly out of town but very good price for a fantastic hotel!

Once again stayed at the Hai Au in Hoi An and loved every minute of our stay. This hotel has large, clean rooms and is an easy walk to the main market area in Hoi An. The reception staff and kitchen staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to ensure you always feel welcome. Organising a trip, laundry, taxi, bikes etc is no bother and the girls are always very helpful. with shopping/restaurant suggestions. These girls have a great knowledge of the Hoi An area and excellent English. The breakfast buffet has a wide range of choices. a computer and kettle were provided in our rooms.
Well done Hai Au. Keep up the great service.

Room Tip: Good size pool and plenty of lounges and chairs to relax on. Views from the balconies on floors 3...

I stayed at Hai Au for 12 weeks because i studied in Hoi An and i really loved the hotel! It is a really clean hotel close to city centre and 4km from the beach. The staff is amazing and super friendly and can help you with everything. They learned my name on day 1 and they was always smiling and said `good morning (name)` everytime i went through the reception or restaurant. The breakfast is great with soups, noodles, bacon, omelettes, fruits etc. Only minus i found during my 12 weeks long stay is the small pool. But i will absolutely recommand it to everyone visiting the fantastic city of Hoi An.

I emailed the hotel from Hue a day before our arrival, Ms Minh sent a message straight back with details of cost etc. We were greeted by lovely friendly girls at reception, I must say other reviewers said the staff were "in their face", we certainly didn't find this here, there were several other places we stayed where this was the case. The girls on reception never tried to sell us anything or coerce us into going to any tailors etc. I loved this hotel it is in the french style old and beautiful with high ceilings so is a little noisy, but we closed the bathroom door so didn't have a problem, the linen was fine the bed was enormous with two beautiful swans made from towels, everything was spotless and anything not in the room was available from reception. Don't know where some of the people leaving bad reviews on here stayed but didn't sound like what we experienced. The breakfast was more than adequate with lots of variety. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times it was quite OK. The hotel entrance is in the side lane and there is an entrance through the restaurant. The foyer is large and filled with lovely heavy french inspired timber furniture that sits beautifully with the building.
Make sure you have a massage at the Spa recommended at reception, best ever. Hoi An is a lovely town but was spoiled for us by the market vendors, they are very in your face. I bought very little as I was afraid to stop and look as they drag you physically into their stall. Unless they tone their behaviour down they will lose a lot of tourists, the thing that saves them now is the beautiful city, We travel to Thailand twice a year and attend markets all over, have never been hassled like this. My advice would be, don't miss this beautiful town go to Hoi An but don't plan on buying from the market, just keep walking and don't stop and look, go to the Japanese Bridge and pay to go across, it's a quiet haven on the other side, no bikes or cars and much more laid back. The river is also worth a look and we went for a boat ride, bit dear but we enjoyed it. Some of the riverside cafes are worth a look also. I will go back to Hoi An at some stage, can only hope that they find out how to act, maybe take a leaf out of Thailand's book. Love to Tammy, Ruby, Anna, Minh & Cherry....

Room Tip: There is a fan in the wall of the bathroom and noise from the landing can be quite loud, close the b...

This was a great place. The many ladies at the desk are super friendly and remember your name, cheerfully calling it out when you come in any time - "Hello Bill!" The room was great, clean and cute with a sweet little balcony. Ours looked out over a soccer field used by the local kids, complete with Communist party songs. Awesome!

The pool was great - small and tucked between buildings, but so refreshing. The breakfast was amazing - tons of choices and cooked to order. The girls at the desk also had our laundry done for us. Oh, and we rented a bicycle for a dollar a day and rode to the beach, which was great. About 15 minutes on the bike, but it's flat and a gorgeous beach.

You're within walking distance to tons of shops and eateries in the "old" part of town, which is the prettiest we saw our entire time in Vietnam. We had originally not even planned on stopping in Hoi An, but so many people encouraged us, we did and boy were we glad.

The day we left, the girls followed us out to the taxi, holding our hands and hugging us like family. What a great place. Oh, and they also arranged our hour long massage at a nearby spa - GREAT!

We stayed 2 nights at the Hai Au Hotel during our journey through Vietnam. None of the other Hotels we experienced before this one welcomed us as warmly as the Staff at Hai Au! The rooms are really spacious and clean, we even got an amazing bed decoration every night and a free fruit plate in the beginning.

+
friendliness and attentiveness of the staff (knew our names every time we walked through the lobby!)
extra mile of the staff: they walk you out of the hotel to show you things
good location, walking distance to beautiful old town
transfer from airport: hotel contacts guest prior to stay via email - we really appreciated this
great breakfast (hygienic appearance, hot choices....)
helpful and knowledgeable with tips about hoi an
nice tailor next door who made us ball dresses and a tuxedo - recommended by hotel staff
option to hire bikes for the day (beach visit....)
pool is quiet and ok

-
even after thinking we don't remember anything - amazing staff makes up for anything....

Overall we would like to thank Hai Au and especially their staff for the amazing stay! hope to see you all soon
