“Wat a delightful place!”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

TFirst of all, the location is perfect--right on the edge of the old town. It is quiet at night. As soon as you enter the front entrance, you realize that this place is something special, for it is a lovely colonial style building, built around a beautiful courtyard. You are greeted with delicious ginger tea. By all means, pop the few extra bucks for a courtyard facing room. You will have your own balcony, and it is a great place to relax. The room was roomy and comfortable, especially the bed. All the comforts you might want are here. The staff is uniformly pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very nice, including an omelet maker. There are bicycles to,use, and even a pool table,in the courtyard. This hotel is hard to beat--- plus the price is very reasonable for all you get. We loved it here.

Room Tip: Courtyard facing room

We just stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 nights, and were enchanted: by the colonial style buildings around a grassy courtyard, lit up with small lights in the evening, by the rose petals floating in our bathtub, fresh flower arrangements in our room and decorative fresh flower accents in the bedroom and bath. The wait staff service was exceptional. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous, to both the eyes and tummy. Its location at the end of the main drag was ideal…a short 5 minute walk to the Old Market. It’s a gem…

Room Tip: second story has more privacy

Hoi An is a place that oozes culture, history and old world charm and Ha An fits the bill. Conveniently located parallel to the canal, Ha An is not exactly within the "ancient town" but it's just right at the edge of it - which means guests can sleep in peace without the noise. It's a quiet retreat. It's within 2 minutes walk to the market and another 5 minutes walk or so to the ancient town, there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

The rooms are reasonably priced although the standard rooms may be considered small by Vietnamese standard. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It has most things one would expect of a 4* hotel and free WIFI around the whole area. Breakfast is served at the memory cafe next door. The hotel also offers free bikes for all guests and there is always a security guard at the entrance of the hotel.

I think this is a charming little place that's worth trying.

We spent one night in this hotel in the Deluxe Garden View Room and enjoyed it very much.
The room was very large and clean with complimentary fruit basket. The restaurant is pretty good as well.
Staff was adequate (neither very helpful nor particularly kind, but ok). We borrowed bikes, which are the best way to move around Hoi An.
The hotel is conveniently located next to the city centre, just a few hundred metres away from very nice restaurants and bars.

if you are looking for bang for your buck this is it. The hotel is like a small old mansion. We arrived and the lady at reception showed us two type of rooms they had available . we took 2 rooms on the 2nd floor with a balcony. the rooms were clean , the air conditioning worked extremely well, the beds and linen were great. the property grounds were amazing . There breakfast was amazing , buffet style and there was a omellete bar all the food was excellent for all meals. the staff are friendly and service there was just amazing. This hotel also in a great location, centrally located between the ocean and the shopping quarter. When we were shown the rooms we were able to negotiate them from $100 to $85 per night (twin beds) . We have been to 6 hotels in vietnam in the last 2 weeks and this comes out on top so far . if you have the chance to stay here dont miss out on this amazing experience. Peaceful , quiet and tranquil. If you like spa services the 868 massage is truly worth it.

Location couldn't be better on the edge of the town and I agree with other, the bikes were a wonderful addition (and even though the traffic is crazy and we are almost 60) we used them every day and cycled to the beach twice.

However, we had some issues - our first room (upstairs front overlooking garden) was right on the edge of the road and very noisy (there was also some noise from a generator). However, next morning when we mentioned it we were moved to an identical room at the far end of the building with a similar view over the garden. This room turned out to have some form of sewage smell - once again this was taken very seriously - they sent staff to rectify the problem, left a small bottle of wine and offered to move us again - which we couldn't face (though later wished we had). Two cocktails were then sent to our room - which was a nice touch. While we were at dinner on our first night a rat ran across the terrace - hard to avoid in Vietnam and places like this and they assured us they have pest control twice a month and this chap had come in from the road.

Beds were huge and very comfortable - rooms had fresh fruit daily and everything you needed. Breakfast couldn't be faulted - plenty of everything, great choice and exceptional service. On leaving we were given a 20% discount because of all our problems - but honestly, we would have preferred a hassle free stay.

Would we recommend it - yes - I think we were unlucky (especially with the sewage smell as there had been very heavy rain the previous night so drains might have backed up???).

Room Tip: Make sure you get one further back from the road. We had an upstairs room which looked over the gar...

Stayed here in mid-October 2012- another five star performance from the Ha An- keenly priced for a brilliant service. Room was lovely as was the bathroom and shower, staff were friendly without being over attentive, breakfast was fresh and plentiful and hotel bikes were great for getting around Hoi An. Best place that we stayed in Vietnam and I would happily recommend it to others.
