We were due to stay at the Anantara Hotel, Hoi-An for 6 nights, 6th- 12th November 2017. On our journey to the hotel, we were contacted by the staff of the Anantara who informed us that unfortunately they would be unable to welcome us due to flooding of the hotel, caused by typhoon Damrey that had hit Hoi-An that weekend.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Anantara and commend the staff who seamlessly and efficiently arranged our transfer to another hotel, outside the flooded area.
They also contacted us the next day to make sure that we were happy and that our new accommodation was to our satisfaction.
We saw with our own eyes the devastation the Tyhoon had caused in Hoi-An and heard many stories of where people were boated out of the area. We were amazed at the resilience of the people and the major clean- up operation that took place to return it to normality as quick as they did.
We had been very excited about staying at the Anantara and of course were very upset that we were unable to stay there. We hope to return to Hoi-An in the future and would love stay at the Anantara.
