My girlfriend booked this hotel for our long weekend getaway. This was the first time I did not know what to expect from a hotel as I normally do the bookings. The hotel is situated in the old town driving up to the entrance was not that impressive. It is tucked between old shop houses with road construction. Boy was I wrong………………….
Once through the gate, it opens up into a French colonial compound. We were welcomed by the hotel stuff who briefed us on the hotel facilities and also things to do in Hoi An. We were they showed to our suite which was on the third floor facing the garden. The room is what one would expect from a Spa Resort without a balcony. This is compensated by a sitting area in front of the suite where one can sit, have a drink and just wine down after a long days walk.
Breakfast was good, giving guest the choice of European breakfast and also local delicacies. Go early if you want to get a table on the side facing the river. I cannot comment on the Spa as we spent most of our time wondering around the old city.
Location is far enough from main shopping streets but near enough where it can be reached with a 10 minute walk. The hotel also provide guest with bicycles on a first come first serve basis. We did not experience shortages during our 4 day stay.
Pool – There is a nice pool to chill during the hot afternoons.
Rooms are made twice a day – morning and late afternoon. They leave a nice fruit basket after making your bed in the evening.
One problem I had during the stay was the A/C. It was extremely humid and there was one day where the A/C stopped working which I suspect was due to the high humidity. It was fixed after our return from dinner.
Overall a good stay.

Stayed here for two nights on trip from Hanoi to Saigon.Beautifully appointed room.Helpful staff Only had breakfasts there but the variety of food was tremendous.Plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby as the hotel is only a short walk from Hoi An centre which was bustling with the market & umpteen shops. There are plenty of tailoring shops which can make up all sorts of clothes in 24 hours - don't miss the opportunity - we wish we had had time to buy more in retrospect

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the left as you face reception as they are building a new bus station on that side

Beautiful property in a lovely city. The staff was lovely. Rooms were beautiful as was pool/setting. Only complaints: some of the common areas not air conditioned and it was HOT. And, keeping the water from the shower from flowing onto the bathroom floor was challenging.

Having stayed at other Anantara hotels, we had pretty high expectations and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is in a great position, within easy walking distance of beautiful old "down town" Hoi An. Our river view suite, with its day beds from which to watch the never ending and varied river traffic pass by, was perfect. The pool was lovely (although, rather oddly, it shelved towards a still shallow "deep spot" in the centre from all four sides!). Breakfasts were pretty spectacular and the setting, with open air views across the river, was a great place to start the day. Staff were, without exception, friendly, happy and helpful. We enjoyed the free hotel cycles, the lantern lighting ceremony, and the sunset cruise. Hoi An itself was a predictably wonderful place to spend a few days in the middle of our rather hectic tour of Vietnam. If you are in this part of the world, then this is the place to stay!

Have just returned from 13 nights at this excellent hotel. All the staff are very friendly, from the
General Manager to the housekeeping staff. We have never stayed at a hotel where the
management are so visible and approachable every day. The local restaurants are excellent
and all within walking distance. Hoi An at night is so beautiful with all the lanterns.
We made great use of the free bicycles, although on occasions the brakes were a little
suspect but we survived the traffic and cycled for many miles.
As luck would have it we had a wonderful evening for a sunset cruise on the hotel boat and the canapés were delicious and were washed down with pleasant wine.
We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hoi An.

Room Tip: The river facing suites would be wonderful but we were very happy in our garden facing junior suite...

What a wonderful place! The resort is stunning and the rooms were beyond expectation, being large and beautifully appointed. As we are GHA members we were upgraded to a junior suite, and we felt we could comfortably stay here for weeks. From the welcoming check- in with cooling drink, to the friendliness and impeccable service of the staff our experience here was unforgettable. The pool and grounds were a perfect tropical retreat and the food was wonderful and reasonably priced. We would especially like to thank Thuy for her personal, caring and professional service and will be returning to stay here again as soon as possible. Thanks also to Martin, the Exec. Asst Manager for his personal attention.
