Perfect room and hotel, extremely friendly staff and ideal surroundings, would recommend to anyone, we even extended our visit here as it was so nice. The hotel rooms are large clean and very comfortable. We were upgraded to a suite when we arrived and it made a perfect visit to Hoi an.

Arrived yesterday , picked up from airport no problem , enjoyed journey , great safe driver . On entering hotel given cold towel and drink , much appreciated . Book in easy and relaxed , staff all very friendly. As it is our wedding anniversary , we were given flowers and a beautiful cake , amazing . The rooms are outstanding , great design , beautifully decorated , from tiling to fitments and furniture . Down side , not close to much , but do run shuttles , no iron or ironing board in room . Biggest disappointment , which could mean someone returning or not . The bed is like concrete , hardest bed I have ever slept on ever . Although the staff were good enough to put another quilt on it . They need to have seperate pillow top mattress .

I enjoyed a wonderful 2-night stay at the Ancient House Village Resort & Spa during a weekend trip to Hoi An. Situated in a beautiful location along the river, among rice and vegetable fields, the property is away from the hustle and bustle of Hoi An town, but close enough for easy access by car (less than 10 minutes, with free shuttle provided) or by bicycle. Although the hotel opened only a few months ago, the grounds are beautifully landscaped, with a pond running through the courtyard and coconut palms surrounding the property. I was in a garden view room, on the 3rd floor. The room (actually more like a suite) was architecturally stunning, with high ceilings and an open layout. What really stood out to me were the added touches such as a laptop in every room and conveniently located electrical outlets throughout the room (a rarity even for 5-star business hotels in much of Asia).

The hotel restaurant is located in an airy building next to the pool, with several outside tables available. The breakfast buffet offered a nice selection of fruits and local dishes. Not oppulent, but more than sufficient. I was struck by the friendly nature of all of the staff who I encountered. They are all young, and as other reviews have noted, may be lacking in experience, but this is made up for by their enthusiasm and desire to please. Highly affordable (US$18 each-way) transfer to the hotel from Da Nang airport was easily arranged through the hotel, with transport in a comfortable mid-size car.

My only complaint would be that I would have liked to stay a few days longer!

Room Tip: top floor rooms have high vaulted ceilings; not sure about the rooms on the lower floors.

We stayed 4 nights in the superior room, it was spacious and beautiful. Breakfast, restaurant and service could be better, but we liked pool and spa options there. WiFi worked very good in whole hotel complex. All the gardens are laid out with tropical plants.

We didn't need to tell them it was my boyfriend's birthday, they got the information from his passport and even got a cake decorated with 'Happy birthday Mr.Christropher' written in icing along with a bunch of flowers free of charge.

We really felt like they totally went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was beautiful great view, clean comfortable with a big bath tub and great value for money.

The only 1 negative was the remote location but that was great if you wanted peace and they have a shuttle that takes you to town and the beach.

Room Tip: splash out and get the dulux room its amazing!

This hotel only opened in late 2013. All the gardens are laid out with tropical plants. The rooms are wonderfully spacious with fresh fruit left each morning. The hotel is surrounded by quite rice fields which are viewed from a lovely swimming pool. Breakfast can be taken outside. All the staff are so friendly and kind. Its about a 15 minute walk into Hoian if you do not have a motor bike, but manual bikes are available, and all the roads are flat with no hills. We would definitely stay again

We had been looking forward to our stay at Ancient House Village most of our stay in Vietnam and were not let down! We were immediately impressed by the tranquil garden and resort layout, surrounded by luscious green rice fields. We were upgraded to the Deluxe Garden View room which had an exquisite layout and the decor was gorgeous - an impression that remained each time we came back to the room. It offered two TVs, a laptop, silk robes, and fresh local fruits each day. A big factor for choosing here was the bath and it did not disappoint!! The buffet breakfast was awesome too!

We came knowing it was a new hotel, so weren't surprised as we noticed things that required ironing out when it came to service, especially for a resort of that standard. On a few nights we would venture to the bar only to have to request that music and lights be turned on - something we felt no matter how small the clientele at the time, should just be done at dusk. The ONLY other issue we found was with the shuttle bus service. Being out of the ancient village (which we did like about this hotel!) was the that free shuttle bus service was inconsistent and hard to understand. Some days it ran, others it didn't, but this information was never relayed to us. The result of which on a few occasions left us waiting for a bus that would never come. In the end we would hop in a taxi and the hotel staff would come out to cover the fee. Still, we felt slightly annoyed as we had wasted time. We were never completely explained the pick up routine, and given different locations for pick up in town numerous times. To the hotels credit however, we never did pay for a taxi when the shuttle bus should have been running.

All in all, Ancient House Village is doing a great job in their first few months of opening and should keep up the great work! We had such a relaxing time here and would love to come back. Will definitely recommend.

Thanks, Ancient House Village!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our resort is the ideal base for exploring the Hoi An area, and especially the lifestyles of the Hoi An people. You will discover the simpleness and truthfulness that is in the hearts of local residents. This small historic town remains firmly anchored in the past, and proudly preserves its antique wooden buildings and quaint streets fronting onto a peaceful river scene. Hoi An people possess a graceful smile. Such a smile will balance all of your emotions, thus more and more visitors love to stay for some more days to be truly alive in Hoi An's lifestyle. Some friends that we know have lived here in the local community for tens of years. History has been viewed as having a nourishing effect on people's spiritual lives; therefore, there is no doubt that 'staying for some more days' has become a nice saying we often hear from visitors. The reasons were bowls of Quang noodles and 'Cao Lau'. Wide 'non la'. Paddy fields. Lines of coconuts. White stork families. Or is it because of local youngsters' bright white teeth? Or the blackened ones of aged ladies and gentlemen who have devoted their lives to their fatherland? In the murmuring songs here and there, there is the creaking sound of the hammock and the rhythmic chanting of the paddy seeds. It can also be the magic of the storks every afternoon, fluttering in the air and then landing onto slender coconut leaves like perching pieces of transparent silk on the line between heaven and earth. ... more   less
