“Enjoyable stay, staff could use some work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

Stayed as part of an organized tour.

I really liked the "feel" of this place. Lobby has two staircases that take you to the floors above (no lift, sorry!). Light, bright and open feeling, and the view to the rice paddies behind is lovely, particularly at dusk. The breakfast area was clean, light and bright also. The breakfast service staff were OK, did as was asked but nothing over and above. Variety of breakfast items was good.

Desk staff were less helpful and more surly. Didn't greet with a smile or a hello when dropping off keys or asking for assistance. I asked if they were able to change a 100,000VND note into smaller denominations and was simply told "No".. OK!!

The room was clean, another wet room for a bathroom, very popular in Vietnam but not something I am a fan of. In the evening could not get the room temperature right! Had both a fan and an air conditioner and no matter what combination I used I was either freezing or boiling hot. I think it was because both the fan and the air conditioner blow directly at the bed, blasting you with a cool breeze.

Overall though, an enjoyable stay. I think the charm of the town of Hoi An contributed to my positive review of the hotel.

We stayed here 3 nights. Swimming pool and restaurant are situated in a beautiful garden. Room was fine, nothing more. Nice friendly staff. Free internet but not very stable. Nice lobby and renting bikes is cheap, one dollar per day.

Stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour and found the reception staff quite rude. Included breakfast was outside in nice area but found hygiene very lacking as food not covered. Rooms were ok but there was no in room safe. Walk to town was long and hot - retreated to the small, hot full pool in the afternoon. Overall not impressed with stay.

We recently spent one night at this hotel. The room was quite nice and had a high ceiling, beautiful wood furniture and nice touches like umbrellas and sandals. The only downside is that we found the staff at the front desk to be quite unfriendly. We asked the woman at the front desk to extend our check-in from noon to 2 and were told "no" when the hotel did not seem full. She also was not that helpful when we asked her any questions.

The location is good. It's a little bit of a walk to the old part of town, but we rented bicycles from the hotel for $1 per day.

There was a good selection of items at breakfast and we enjoyed the free welcome drink. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice.

The wireless signal was weak and there is no safe in the room. Also, the hotel does not take credit cards.

stayed 2 night here as part of our intrepid tour Found the staff to be helpful with all our requests
We were too busy to partake of our welcome drink but appreciated the thought
Breakfast was good and staff were there but not hovering around which was good
The maintaintence staff were busy doing renovations around the breakfast area which gave us all something to talk about as the building methods were very different to what we were used to
Large pool area with sunbeds and table and chairs pool was open till late and even after it was meant to be closed we were allowed to swim with no staff requesting us to move
Water in the hotel lobby is too expensive cafe across the road is cheaper
It was a long walk to the centre of Hoi An but taxis were easy to get
We would stay here again

Stayed here 2 nights in May 2012. After checking in we went to restaurant for a cool drink and a few minutes later a staff member arrived with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for my daughter as they had noticed it was her birthday from her passport. It was a lovely gesture. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower was good. Balcony off the bedroom which had a lovely view over to the fields. Great for watching the farmers in their fields working hard in the soaring heat. Breakfast was pretty poor but we did have lunch around the pool one day and it was okay. The pool was great especially after a walk to the town. The hotel gardens are a delight. The Old Town is within walking distance although some people might balk at walking 10-15 mins, especially if it is very hot. We enjoyed the walk to the Old Town and the merchant houses are wonderful. Easy to walk around at night in the Old Town as no traffic allowed down the small streets. Would definitely stay again. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful. You can always eat elsewhere.

Good location - walking distance to the beach and the market - 20 min walk each way. Great resort-style pool and surrounds. Limited and unimpressive restaurant. Hard bed!
