Owner description: A local favorite, construction on this covered bridge began in the Year of the Monkey (1593) and was finished in the Year of the Dog (1595), hence the monkey and dog sculptures at either end.

The Japanese bridge is really beautiful and adds to the character of Hoi An. It's well worth a visit although we were happy enough seeing it from the outside and didn't pay to walk through it.

Only remnant of the once thriving japanese quarter. Nice photo op
Near a fishing net expo and river. Try to visit on full moon for lantern displays. Note they celebrate full moon 1 day before most calenders

Understand there is history and the style is interesting but really, it's just a bridge with some religious artifacts in it. That it forms part of the Heritage site is great and walking along the streets of the protected area is interesting, but not that different from the rest. If you do not go with a tour guide or group the charge is unnecessarily high to cross the bridge or get into the protected area.

Small bridge of Japanese heritage straddling river in Hoi Ann. Very old and beautifully maintained with a temple inside. Must be visited.
