We (a family of 5) stayed here for 7 nights in August. We took the advice of others and booked two deluxe river view rooms. No road noise and really lovely views over the river and the lanterns at night. The hotel is going through some rennovations so the main reception area and only restaurant were in the Conference centre when we stayed which was a bit impersonal. We were not told about the rennovations before we arrived, but personally we did not feel impacted as they didn't start very early and we were far enough away. Pool was great and our rooms worked well for us. We chose this hotel for price and also room size as our sons were 3 sharing. That worked out very well. Good size bathrooms too. It is probably time that the rooms were upgraded - furniture beginning to look a little bit too knocked and the bathroom tiles a bit too worn but it really wasn't a problem. Service was never rude but sometimes a bit missing particularly compared to our other Vietnamese hotel experiences. Food in the restaurant was quite expensive and not particularly good. For lunch (when we weren't in Hoi An) we ended up buying baguettes from the local vendors and having them by the pool or on the beach - a much better option!

I think you get what you pay for at this hotel. If you want a true resort experience better to pay up and go to one of the newer properties on the beach side.

We cannot speak highly enough of this hotels staff and amenities. We were met with friendly smiles and courteous attention wherever we went. We had a delay getting our correct room but we enjoyed the alternate room immensely, so much that we moved back into it after one night and because it was a cheaper room the management reimbursed our credit card with the difference. We would not have worried as we were the ones who wanted to remain in the cheaper room and they had to move our bags back again next day. The fact that the hotel is undergoing renovations was not brought to our attention prior to our stay but we are glad as it may have swayed us not to book and we would have missed a lovely place. Some people were put out by the fact that half the resort was closed temporarily but everything you look for in a fine hotel was there, air con, fine dining, lovely swimming pool, and beautiful private beach with lovely and very helpful staff especially Noom and Toong. Should we decide to visit Hoi An again this will definately be our preferred hotel. We did not try the spa so we have not given it a rating

Room Tip: Seaside view villas are lovely even if you are not upstairs you get a little taste of the night life...

This was the second time we have stayed at the hoi an beach resort, as per normal it was very relaxing and amazing. The staff were very pleasant and helpful! Ignore the previous reviews about the renovations, they have blocked off the end part of the hotel and you cannot access the area. During the day and at night we did not notice the workers. It was still peaceful as ever. We used the spa their and it was an amazing massage, I recommend the tea they serve you, it was delicious! They only have one pool available at the moment, but that was the big pool anyways with the swim, up pool bar and kids pool. We organised the Cham island tours and a trip to marble mountain through the hotel and it was great. Our tour guide that picked us up from the hotel and looked after us at the island was fantastic, we were given extra attention as we were one of the only Australian couples on the tour with the rest being Chinese or Vietnamese.

Room Tip: Recommend a garden view room or a river view, it gets you away from the renovations if you are conce...

Absolutely love Hoi An and the location of this hotel is brilliant. However we had to move rooms 3 times, as we had requested rooms next to each other, for my children, in a quiet location. Cleanliness fine, but pool staff were very 'stressy' about towels! Food was fine, but I agree with previous reviewers who felt mini bar and bar prices were crazy and inconsistent. Service erratic. On arrival others advised us to pop out to the high street and buy our own drinks. The high light of this stay was a cooking course, rides to the market by bike early in the morning, buying the ingredients and then going back to the hotel to cook our own lunch! Would do this again tomorrow and my children loved this. Gardens well maintained.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room as some rooms are very close to the main road.

Had been quite familiar with this resort, so we almost not visit tripadvisor to see the review. Really disappointed with the huge construction sites here, which we never ever been informed.
Had complained with the staff but the response is simply we had informed o all client. Last year, when Victoria hoi an did their renovation, which is not such terrible, they had upgraded our std room to delux river view.

Half of the resort, including the larger pool, the reception area and its lovely riverside restaurant is being renovated, and the way to its private beach become double. You can get the mini bus to beach if you luckly catch the driver, but walking back is still weird. The pool staff at the remained pool is nice, but seems he not works in the evening and lights at the pool was not turned on. Hence, at the far end of the pool, it is really dark.

The construction works during all day time, so you can have a choice of noisy or terribly noisy room. It was said by the staff that renovation completes in Dec, but then seems they will repair the remained half of the resort.

Delux river room on the 3rd floor is not worth the value, suprising gentle slowly shower. All we get is palm tree view, or lean over the balcony to see the lovely river. Room 358 is most far away from the construction site, but having noise from the nearby resort's pool and bar.

Food are same same prior year, although breakfast is available until 10am,  but after 8.30am no more Pho, and egg chef leaves around 9am.

The bedtime story is nice. Although we all leave a copy of Id at reception, the fact that we are all Vietnamese was ignored, and it takes time to tell the story to my 5 year old kid. Comparing to nearby Palm garden, over the last 5years, they had given us an "welcome back" card since our 2nd visit.

However,  noted that our comment abt the old towels and beach service had been implemented, and the beach was very beatiful during our stay.

Room Tip: Normally river view villa, downstair is good, but now close to the noisy site. Seaview villa, nothi...

First impressions are that all the hotel furnishings are in very dark wood which makes the place feel a little dated. However this does not detract from the general ambience. The hotel is clean, staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations which we are told will be completed by the end of the year. These did not detract in any way from our comfort and enjoyment. At present the reception area is pretty stark with wooden arm chairs which do not encourage one to linger in the area. The pool area is great- a decent size pool deep enough for a dive in places with comfortable sun loungers and towels aplenty. The air conditioning in the bedrooms is modern and reasonably quiet. However the hotel would benefit greatly if they put air conditioning in the dining room and lounge areas or even ceiling fans might help. The breakfast offers a fair variety of Asian and western food. We personally missed pineapple and watermelon from the fruit sections on at least half our mornings (7night stay) but there were always at least five fruits to select from.
The shuttle bus to and from Hoi An town is a real bonus and if the times do not suit your schedule a taxi costs $7 New Zealand. There are a number of bar/restaurants on the street facing the hotel which are fine but we found much better food in Hoi An town. Drinks are much cheaper across the road and it is almost as quick to nip over there and bring them back to the pool area or your room!
The beach is lovely, long white sands. You can catch a buggy to and from the hotel whenever you wish. There is a bar, and towels are available at the beach. There are water sports for the brave and sun beds for us lesser mortals.
Overall this is a great place to stay and we would happily return. Just remember August is one of the hottest periods so might not be the best month to come if you have a choice. It is fine whilst around the hotel but very hot when visiting tourist attractions.
HINTS:
1) We originally booked a 'garden view' room but found we were looking at a brick wall! When we asked at reception they willingly changed us to a river view room (at no extra charge) . This room was way superior to our original so would recommend you ask for a river view when booking
2) The beds are pretty hard but enormous.
3) the hotel is three storeys and has no lifts so if you have issues walking ask for a low floor room

Room Tip: Notes as above - book a river view

A reasonable hotel to stay to explore the lovely town of Hoi An, bedrooms quite large and comfortable if a little tired, very firm and large beds. The hotel offers a great buffet breakfast and all of the staff are very friendly, other meals are also available at reasonable prices and the pool bar great to have a swim up cocktail or beer and also good snack lunches available poolside. The lantern show at 19.30 nice to watch over a drink, hotel laundry is a bit pricey but outside the hotel across the road it's very cheap and all back the same day.

Room Tip: Try to upgrade from basic room just for a better view, all rooms are quiet.
