Owner description: Located on the banks of the poetic Thu Bon River, in central Quang Nam province, 30 kilometers south of Da Nang, Hoi An ancient town is an Eastern oriental classic captivation. With the strategic location on the banks of the great river, with one seaside border (East), it used to be one of the major trading centers in Southeast Asia during the 16th century due to the early western trader occupying period.

Must vist we were only here a few nights but will come back to explore more. So quiet and beautiful the old town is. Lots of shops and tailors to route through. The beer is cheaper the other side of the bridge so only drink there (30p for a bottle of Saigon) theres a cool bar there that stays open for as long as you can party to. This town gives you everything you need.

..jewelry, bags, etc. Even at the airport the prices for the same jewelry were a fraction of the prices in the Ancient Town (!!!). So do go to Hoi An, have something tailor made and enjoy the food. But do not buy anything else, it is a tourist trap.

Unlucky for us to be there in the rainy season because we did not want to enjoy some tours. However, discovering Hoian Town under the rain was really fantastic.
We loved the small roads around Hoian, during the rain, the town was quiet, and like a girl sleeping.
Stopped in a cafe, enjoyed a cup of hot coffee and watched the town in the rain. This was a good moment for us.
A great moment in Hoian!

Beautiful town which we were lucky enough to arrive at on a full moon. I will never forget wandering around the old town under the moon with the throngs of people enjoying floating candles on the river, listening to music, drinking hot green tea and just soaking in the beauty that is Hoi An.

But what was the whole ticket thing about? What a very ridiculous idea. Hopefully that experiment will be gone by the time we return.

Like I say. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.

Excellent food wherever we went in this gorgeous little town. Loved staying at the Anantara hotel - very convenient and beautiful rooms and pool.
