Description: Vietnamese cuisine encompasses the foods and beverages of Vietnam, and features a combination of five fundamental taste elements (Vietnamese: ngu vi) in the overall meal. Each Vietnamese dish has a distinctive flavor which reflects one or more of these elements. Vietnamese recipes use lemongrass, ginger, mint, Vietnamese mint, long coriander, Saigon cinnamon, bird's eye chili, lime, and basil leaves. Traditional Vietnamese cooking is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of oil, and reliance on herbs and vegetables. With the balance between fresh herbs and meats and a selective use of spices to reach a fine taste, Vietnamese food is considered one of the healthiest cuisines worldwide. Nhu Bau is a family owned and operated restaurant and they work hard together to bring you all the flavours an excellent Vietnamese restaurant can offer. Come along today and enjoy Nhu Bau.

So your staying at Sunrise resort and you want to try some local food and hospitality.Across the road is the Nhu Bau.Only opened three months ago by Sisters Quynh and Anh this is a great place to get fantastic local food,ICE COLD BEER thats all served with a beautiful smile. They also have fresh seafood tanks. The seafood changes daily but Crab Mussells and fish are there most days. They also cater for the kids who may not like local food and there is plenty of room for kids to play and be kids. The building and decor provide great ambiance whilst the service and value for money is excellent. They also have plans for a small bar at the front for weary thirsty travellers to have a cold drink and check out the menu and see why NHU BAU is the place to try when staying in HOI AN

Spent a week at the Sunrise Beach Resort at Hoi An, and visited this restaurant twice. It is located directly across the road from the resort entrance.
It's a family run business (as they all are), but this is really run by 2 young sisters - Anh and Quynh - they are so friendly and accomodating. Anh runs the front-of-house, and Quynh does the cooking. They speak reasonable English, and are extremely eager to please.
Don't get put off by the plastic furniture, there is enought to please you in terms of the people and food - you will not mind.
Menu is quite extensive - plenty of local dishes, and some western food for the kids.
On the second night I had dinner there, I spent a few hours with the family - Mum, Dad, Auntie etc - conversation was limited, but it was a lot of fun.
Give it a try, especially if you are staying at Sunrise Beach Resort.

Had 2 good meals at Nhu Bau restaurant whilst we were staying across the road at Sunrise Hoi An Beach Resort. This restaurant is new and has only been in operation for a few months but we were very happy with our experiences. Service was excellent, for one meal there we were the only people at the restaurant, Anh and her family who own this restaurant was very attentive to all of our needs on both visits. When saying how hot it was outside that night, the staff brought two outdoor fans and an extension cord to cool us down, we didn't even have to ask. Food was good, cheap and adequate size. For an appetiser we ordered the vegetable spring rolls and the pork spring rolls, they were both absolutely delicious. They also offered western food choices such as pizzas and burgers, if seafood or vietnamese isn't your thing. If returning to Hoi An we would definitely visit this restaurant again, as the family is lovely and food was good.
