Owner description: The Hoi An Silk Village, officially opened in August 2012, is based on the ancient silk weaving traditions of Quang Nam province that used Hoi An as a commercial seaport for over 300 years. Located down the street from Hoi An's town center, the Silk Village offers an experience like no other. During the tour you'll learn about the entire production of silk from silkworm to dress. We also have a spacious restaurant serving up local delights and a high-end silk showroom where you can have custom garments designed.

“Great tour”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

It was pouring rain we were greeted with large umbrellas and a beautiful mulberry non alcoholic cocktail. when we declined the buffet part of the tour there was no hard sell. the village is an amazing restoration of a silk business from previous times. The costume collection is awesome.

“Hoi An Silk Village”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Very informative, with a very comprehensive description of Vietnamese history. The village showed us how to make silk from the silk worms to spinning and weaving and onto dying the silk.

“Experience well worth the half day spent”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

We read about the Silk Village from the hotel brochure and were glad we made it there in our short 2 nights stay. Highly recommended to go for the tour - which has option for lunch that comprises top 5 local dishes that were delicious (cao lao was exceptional) - we only wished we had bigger stomachs as the portions were generous.
Area was beautiful and organized like a garden. The welcome drink of mulberries and peach was refreshing. The guide was excellent in walking us through the different stages of the silkworm weaving process to the end product.
Their products are value for money as well, and tailoring to fit is also available within 24 hrs.
Kudos to the team (from the frontline to the folks who were demonstrating the actual processes at the diffferent stations) for job well done!

“Short excursion in Hoi An”
Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

We heard about the Silk Village from some other guests at our hotel. On our last day in Hoi An we had a few hours to spare and thought we would check it out. It was truly fascinating to see how silk is produced and also the hand weaving of other fabrics. We took the short tour, which is about 40 mins. The guide was lovely, spoke great English and was able to answer all of our questions. I loved being taught how to differentiate between silk and synthetic! An easy 1-2km bike ride/walk from town, or 50,000VND ($2.50) taxi.
