Owner description: The Hoi An Silk Village, officially opened in August 2012, is based on the ancient silk weaving traditions of Quang Nam province that used Hoi An as a commercial seaport for over 300 years. Located down the street from Hoi An's town center, the Silk Village offers an experience like no other. During the tour you'll learn about the entire production of silk from silkworm to dress. We also have a spacious restaurant serving up local delights and a high-end silk showroom where you can have custom garments designed.

I visited here with my daughter who is a Textile Artist and Teacher.
My daughter wanted to purchase some raw silk for weaving. The Staff were most helpful and understood her requirements and we returned 2days later to complete her purchase. We did not do an organised tour but the staff were happy for us to wander around. We look forward to returning.

So glad we made the trip (slightly out of Hoi An City). On an extremely hot afternoon the air conditioning was well received and the staff encouraged us to go into their other shop (we were in the gift shop) because the air conditioning was better. Beautiful silk work and gifts - could've spend sooo much money! Hard to not buy metres and metres of the silk and the scarves! Staff were lovely and showed us how to differentiate between artificial and genuine silk. Our children were fascinated (so were we!) when they showed us the silk worms and the process of making silk.

Highly recommend a visit!

The village opened not even a year ago but hey are very professional and the whole site is really lovely. Loved the mulberry juice as a welcome drink and it was so interesting to learn and see how silk is made. We even learned how to distinguish between real and fake silk. Worth a visit!

We had a wonderful time being shown around the silk village. It was interesting to learn how silk is created. The staff were friendly and informative and there was no hard sell to buy products at the end. Definitely recommend a visit

Who would have thought feeding silk worms would be so much fun. you are greeted with a cold mullberry/peach drink which is so refreshing. The next step is to see the 54 different ethnic tribes formal silk outfits. On to look at and pick some mullberry leaves and then start feeding the worms. You can actually hear them chew the leaves. The extraction of the silk from the cocoons is a thing to believe and the weaving was creative to say the least. Very much worth a visit and of course their is the shop.
