Stayed here in a pool villa for a couple of nights in mid March. It's on the riverbank in a quite residential area an easy 10 minute walk to theI Old Quarter. The whole surrounding area is very flat, so comfortable to explore on the resort's pushbikes, with the local beaches and seafood restaurants only about a 5km ride through picturesque rice paddies.
The resort itself is only a few months old and consists of 16 villas, with clearly considerable effort spent on the landscaping. Our pool villa had a spacious bathroom with bathtub and twin basins, a smallish bedroom with comfortable bed, and and a separate sparsely furnished sitting room. The bedroom opens onto a small private terrace with a plunge pool/jacuzzi, which is not very private as the next door villa's jacuzzi is only a meter away, with just a few shrubs between. At times the bathroom water pressure was fine, but sometimes the flow pulsed, and occasionally stopped altogether for 10 or 20 seconds at a time.
There's a small communal pool by the river but there's no gym, just a couple of basic machines outside next to the path.
We only had the included breakfast once as the concept of an open air breakfast next to the river didn't quite work. We arrived about 9am and the temperature was already in the high 20's (deg C) so the staff were having trouble keeping the cold stuff (juice, fruit, yoghurt, etc) cold without refrigeration, while most of the "hot" items (sausages, bacon, etc) were cold. About the only thing that was the right temperature was the to-order eggs. All the fruit juice ran out at one point and a request for more was met with a smile from the staff and a statement of "finished... ". It looked like there was some new structure being built next to the breakfast gazebo which may solve some of these problems, but noisy construction continued only a couple of meters from where guests were trying to have a relaxing meal.
The staff were very pleasant, although it was a little disconcerting to have them leap out of their seats to greet guests each time you passed through the lobby.
