“Beautiful Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2012

Though a bit expensive but it's new and clean, the rooms are big with balcony and everything is spotless. The staff were very polite and helpful and spoke good english, breakfast was from a menu and not buffet but it was enough. The hotel has a great swimming pool and free pushbike to explore Hoi An.

If you are coming by bus to Hoi An, this hotel is not far from the bus stop and don't believe the motorbike riders saying it's 3 kilometers, and it's only 800 meters. It shouldn't cost more than 15000 VND from the bus stop.

Arriving in Hoi An at close to midnight we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is very clean, has numerous computers where you can access the internet, and our room was a good size with a great view of beautiful Hoi An. The highlight is definitely the free bike hire which easily makes up for the hotel being a little bit out of the CBD. The pool was great and breakfast was awesome - You could pick 2 choices from a list of about 10 and could have a smoothie/fruit drink with fresh fruit. However, whilst the hotel staff was overall friendly and helpful, what brings my review down is the way we were treated at one stage by the hotel manager. We wanted to book train tickets from Hanoi to Sapa, and were told by him that the cheapest we could get the ordinary train was $45, even though online it said only $20. When we decided not to book with him, he was not impressed, and openly ignored us for the rest of our stay. We were later ripped off anyway, having booked the ticket for $38 at another agency who told us that the train we would be on was the 'tourist train' when in fact it was the local train (which is totally fine, except that we were overcharged by nearly $20).

Otherwise we had a wonderful experience in Hoi An.

Hotel contacted us prior to arrival to confirm our stay and ask if we required picking up from the bus station. We didn’t require the service but thought it was good that they offered.

Arrived at 3pm but our room was not yet ready. Unusual for that time of the day

On our second day we realised why, left the hotel at 9.30am with the ‘Please Make Up Room’ sign on the door. To then return at 1.30pm and the room still be how we left it. Had to go down to reception and ask for clean towels and a toilet roll. The 3 maids then came to the room at 2.30pm to clean the room.

Spacious double room with a balcony overlooking the pool.

Pool area and rooms get the sun from sunrise and then in the afternoon are in complete shade.

Minibar with a good selection. Have to pay 5,000dng for bottled water. Other hotels we have stayed at bottled water has been FOC

Offer free bicycles to use which we took to the beach. Good 15min walk to the old town, not so bad if you like walking. (Wouldn't walk on your own at night, can be quite dark in places with people hanging around)

Arranged a taxi for us to take us to Danang Train Station 30mins $16USD

Restaurant is OK, nothing special but good to get a quick snack. Advertised as being open until 10pm. At 8.30pm the waitress had to phone the chef to come back.

Pepperoni pizza was particularly poor, just tomato sauce squirted on the base with ham and melted cheese and a kids sized portion for $7

Breakfast served from 6am-10am but make sure you time it right so that you actually have somewhere to sit. There are not enough tables to accommodate the 20+ rooms. One morning we nearly had to take our breakfast back up to our room until luckily someone got up and left. Waitresses didn’t clear the table though so we had to eat ours looking at other peoples mess. This happened twice.
Buffet style for the Vietnamese selection; fruits on offer and an 'egg station' pancakes, omelettes and eggs made to order.

On check out the receptionist asked if there was any service that they could improve as they are a new hotel. We mentioned the breakfast.

OK stay but would find it hard to recommend to others until they iron out the little problems. Definitely had better for cheaper in Vietnam

This hotel was a real oasis after the madness of Hanoi. The rooms were clean and spacious with a nice balcony and the pool area was well maintained. The staff were quite helpful and, although the hotel is a little outside of town, the hotel has bicyles for guests to borrow which means you're only a 5minute cycle into the centre of Hoi An. Breakfast had plenty of variety with eggs and pancakes being cooked to order. All in all a very relaxing stay.
One suggestion I would make though is that the hotel should perhaps invest in a few extra sun-loungers as there were only 6 available while we were there which isn't very many.

Me and three of my friends staid at the Sunshine Hotel for 4 nights. At the beginning we had problems to get to the hotel while taxi driver from the airport did not now where this new hotel is (btw. don't take taxi from the Danang airport while they charge $25, better to arrange taxi from sunshine hotel - $17)

Hotel appeared to be very clean (room, lobby, dining area, swimming pool). Also staff were very helpful and speak good English. Hotel has a cheap and quite good restaurant - breakfasts were included in price.

Bicycles are available for free at the Hotel. It is very convenient way of going around Hoi An. Also scouters are available just across the hotel - $7 /day

During our trip in Vietnam we staid in different places, however Sunshine were definitively the best one!

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Sunshine Hotel in Hoi An. After travelling for six months around Asia it was great to find brand new accommodation which was clean, fresh and finished to a high standard. The rooms were large, spotless and well equipped with a tv, fridge and AC. Our room also befitted from a large balcony which looked out onto the swimming pool below. The staff were extremely helpful and were only too happy to offer advice and organise day trips without pressurising us (unlike most of the other tour operators in Vietnam!) Although the hotel was not in the heart of the city they provided free bicycles (with lights) which you could use to make the five minute ride into the town or the fifteen minute ride to the beach. We were also encouraged when we were approached by the owner/manager of the hotel just before we left to ask us if we had experienced any problems with the hotel or if there was anything else we could suggest to further improve the service. This clearly shows that he wants to please his customers and offer the best service possible.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Hoi An who doesn’t mind a short cycle or walk to the centre.

I'm travelling on the cheap and through agoda my friend and i managed to get a brilliant room for what we usually pay in hostels for a shared dorm! Great pool, helpful staff, very clean, free bike rental and bus pick up service, good breakfast included in the price, best place we've stayed in vietnam so far!
