A true boutique guesthouse! The room on the ground floor with big kitchen/living room and terrace is fantastic. Rustic, stylish design you would not expect. Attemtion to lovely details can be seen everywhere.
The girls who run the place are wonderful! Chatty and helpful!
Definitely recommendable for everyone who likes a boutique hotel with charm!

Stayed here for a couple of nights on our recent trip. Very characterful, quirky and well-run. We booked the ground floor flatlet which is well-appointed, including its own little terrace. Note that the air-con only really covers one of the 2 rooms.

Overall, we had a lovely stay here.

The breakfast pho is a bit odd, rather sweet, eggs were the better option here. Great coffee, and cocktails in the cafe out front.

We really loved our stay at La Tonnelle! There were three of us so we booked the ground floor suite for two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. we were looking for a quirky, authentic, characterful guesthouse and this is exactly what we got. stylish, rustic and friendly and actually in the old town, we though $70 a night was pretty reasonable. The suite came with its own outdoor terrace, the beds were comfortable and there was a computer, large well stocked fridge and basic kitchen facilities. The only down side was that only the bedroom had aircon and the living room with day bed that doubled as a third bed had to rely on two fans. If you leave the doors open between the rooms this seemed to filter cold air throughout, but if you didn't the second room was quite hot. The staff were lovely, and helpful - coming to pick us up and help carry our bags when we arrived as cars can't access the street. The breakfast was okay, although we thought the Pho slightly odd. The omelette and baguette was very tasty though and they do excellent fruit juices and coffee. We also had cocktails there one night before we went out and they were very reasonable and yummy. This place is going to be perfect for you if you like character and don't mind slightly rough around the edges, and of all the places we stayed in Hoi An including much more expensive ones, this was our favourite and the one we would return to again.

I stayed here for 2nights.
I paid $35 / night and I think over priced when I consider the vietnam price.
For sure, this is a lovely place and great location but there isn't any facility.

A joy to stay in, very tastefully decorated and yummy breakfast. We hired bikes through the hotel, which was a great fun way to get around. You simply cannot beat this location. The only bad thing can be noise with this place. We stayed 2 nights and the 2nd night we slept fine but the 1st night a couple who were staying in the ground floor room decided to stay up all night drinking in their courtyard and you can hear every word, not fun. But, this is the price you pay to stay somewhere old with character that does not have double glazing.

Really nice small café with a cozy yard. A lot of french books that you could borrow if you stay at the guesthouse or promise to give it back. Perfect place to chill out, play cards or chess. Tasty pumpkin soup.

We couldn't have chosen a better guest house in which to stay. La Tonnelle has a recessed beer garden/breakfast venue that looks out onto the street. During the day, the street is closed to cars three times, and at night, the shops close and the street returns to local family life. We had a room upstairs with ensuite but no television. We didn't want one though, as there is too much to see and do in Hoi An. Step out into the street and you are a short walk away from the Japanese Bridge and waterfront. Alternatively there is a short cut between buildings across the road that takes you directly to the waterfront. We enjoyed sitting under the vines having breakfast, and a few beers and a chat to ex-pats in the beer garden before retiring at night. It is surprisingly quiet at night, mostly because it is backs onto people's homes and gets no traffic noise. I would definitely stay at here again and am already recommending it to others I meet.

Room Tip: If you like privacy, ask for the room with the ensuite. I believe the other two rooms have a shared...
