My husband and I stayed here with 2 friends and my brother-in-law in early May 2013.
My brother - in - law stayed in the main hotel in a room overlooking the ocean. It was a good size room and very comfortable.
The rest of us stayed in a 2 bedroom villa on the beach. Well worth the extra :))
The bedrooms wee huge, bed very comfortable, fridge in bedroom with great mini bar. Outside your own decking and day bed. The bathroom was LUXURY, every thing you needed including a huge bath, attached to it was a area with outside shower , idea with the weather being very hot. Towels changed twice a day. Both bedrooms very private, with own door for privacy.
The lounge area is huge with plenty of seating, and free wifi the whole of our stay. Fruit and bottle water was supplied ever day.
The beach is small, but plenty of sunbeds, and very clean. You have to step over the sand bags to get to the water, but I managed it no bother, and there is always the pool area which is huge.
We had dinner there twice, which was excellent, although wine is a bit expensive. Breakfast is superb, huge variety, something to please everyone
Across the road there is a few laundry places which will do your washing and return it the same day if required...... they were wonderful, while handing in our washing we had a drink of water with them and a wee chat, very friendly and lovely people ... you can buy beer, spirits, crisps ect there at a very good price.
The hotel is 10-15 mins from Hoi An by taxi. There is a shuttle bus and plenty of taxis, fare into town is cheap and hotel staff always on hand when you return to make sure you are not ripped off with fare..... we found the taxi drivers very honest.
We hired a mini bus and driver for the day for a trip to Hue which was a great day out, up into the mountains, and then to the city of Hue, the taxi driver was able to show you around and point out the interesting places.
We went into Hoi An every night for dinner to a different restaurant every night, food was wonderful in each and we never had a bad meal . Good choice of food and wine all at a very reasonable price.
On the whole our 12 day stay at " Sunrise " was a wonderful experience, accommodation, staff, and food was well worth the money.....
We would love to return some day. Would recommend the Sunrise.

My wife and I stayed in Sunrise for 10 days in early June 2013
A wonderful stay.
We were surprised by the modern features of the hotel as we were going to stay in the nearby Victoria ( older more traditional hotel). However not disappointed
Great facilities and rooms first class. Excellent Service. Towels changed twice daily .All staff very helpful and friendly.
Great pool facilities and restaurant. Beach small but nice but suffering from sea erosion as is whole stretch of beaches A bit choppy for swimming most days but 2 pools make up for it.
Location is about 15 mins away from Hoi An old town though hotel offers a regular free bus shuttle which is great . Last evening return 2115 a bit early for us so got local taxis which were only about £4. MInd you Hoi An pretty much closes up about 2230-2300 although you can cross the river if you want a later drink
Not much nearby hotel though a few local shops/restaurants over road where you can buy water/juice beer/wine etc
You can walk up to local Cua Dai beach in about 20 mins partly by road but most of way on beach, We were told beach would be a bit busy and we would be pestered a bit. Not at all. Full of locals enjoying themselves Good Fun. Plenty of small bars and restaurants if don't want to go into old town
We ate in one at lunch time twice- food great and cheap. About £10 for food and a couple of glasses of wine.
Old town itself wonderful. Very quiet during the day with lots of old houses to visit,
Lively at night with lots of excellent restaurants Lots of usual tourist shops but owners all very pleasant,
We only ate in same one twice. 3 course meal for 2 including a decent bottle of wine ( French, Spanish, .Argentinian, Australian) between £30-£35
Would recommend Morning Glory, Mermaid ( basic but great food) Lantern and Secret Garden in particular. A bit hard to find - up an alley but worth it
Weather very hot most of trip ( exceptional for 2/3 days 38c+) Cloudy for a few days but never below 30c
Ate in the hotel day of arrival as tired as had travelled up from Ho Chi Min City.
Food excellent. A little more expensive than in town but not too bad. Only complaint would be price of wine which is far more expensive than anywhere else we found ( Even in Ho Chi Min).- Think this has been raised in earlier reviews.
All in all though a wonderful hotel which I would recommend and hope to visit if we get back to Vietnam
In closing Vietnam itself great ,Our first visit and hopefully not last, People ,food, weather all great. Ho Chi Min hectic but fun for a few days,

Room Tip: I think pretty much all rooms have a sea view of sorts except Ground floor so request higher room We...

mixed feelings on this hotel.
good:
- nice beach (clean, safe, private, enough chairs and space for everybody) and swim in the sea just 5 minutes from your room
- yummy and extensive selection at buffet breakfast
- nice room with balcony facing the sea ( nice 'indoor' balcony you get the space and view without the hot Hoi an weather). big and comfortable bed
- beautiful resort with good sized pool and garden
bad;
- we purchased two nights with one dinner package. at dinner time nobody even explain what is included in the 'set menu' (turned out to be quite disappointing selection).
- service quality seems to be quite patchy, waiting about 20minutes during check in, front desk always quite busy, in the morning sun is directly shining towards the front desk staffs they have to shield their face when talking to you...
- not typical vietnamese spontaneous hospitality, some staffs seem to be less motivated than normal . hotel size is bigger and perhaps this take away the genuine service and hospitality common in vietnam.

not a bad stay overall but for the price of the room in vietnam it seems to underdeliver.

The hotel was brand new when we stayed there in April 2012 for 5 nights. It was very nice, the rooms modern & clean & very comfy bed. The views were over the pool area to the ocean which was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great with European staff in the restaurant. Breakfast buffet had great variety. The beach was not accessible from the hotel although maybe now. We used the hotel bikes to ride to a beach not far that had cool laid back restaurants and day beds on the sand. The hotel had a shuttle at set times into HoiAn town which could've been more frequent but taxis were also available, nothing was expensive really the restaurants in HoiAn were very cheap and all had great happy hour deals. There was a laundry across the road from the hotel which was very cheap and convenient. The only bad experience was the cab ride from Danang airport, total conmen! there were others pulling up also having problems with being ripped off, it's an issue for the all hotels to somehow resolve. Overall experience at the hotel was great and we got fantastic opening special rates.

Room Tip: Request ocean views

We had great 8 nights at Sunrise as a family of six extending across 3 generations and ages 3 to 65. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. The staff are outstanding, always keen to help and to talk.
Our rooms were on the top floor looking straight down across the pools to the beach - just spectacular. Rooms are spacious and well fitted but the bathrooms suffer, like many modern Hotels, from the designers having had more concern about appearance that about practicality and functionality.
The facilities are outstanding, great pools and gardens all beautifully maintained and never a problem getting a sun lounge. Excellent food and service in both restaurants. Kid's Club was a bonus and that, combined with the pools and the early morning buffalo rides on the beach ensured a memorable time for the children.
The shuttle in to Hoi An was a very good service and we never had a problem booking it - but it's only $5 in a cab anyway.
Unfortunately the beach was only open on our first and last days due to the prevailing conditions and tides and this is always going to be a seasonal problem. (Despite the very clear warning flag system some guests persist in trying to enter the beach when it is closed giving the life guards a regular headache!!!)
We shared the resort with all of the contestants in the Miss Ethnic Vietnam Pageant (and associated officialdom) during our stay. While this resulted in a couple of minor inconveniences, it also had its obvious benefits!!!!
Sunrise Beach Resort was great - and best of all was the wonderful staff. While we had a handful of favorites it would be unfair to name them because every single staff member we encountered was a positive for the Resort.

Room Tip: Try for a top floor (Floor 4) room looking straight down the pools to the beach.

Was outstanding with a total of eight nights staying at sunrise. My family loved it as was very child friendly and swimming pools very safe for a 4 yr and 7 yr old. Kids club was excellent the girls were fantastic.
Staff were friendly and high quality standard.
Food was outstanding as well as sporting activities for small children.
Tip 1 anytime from 6am-7pm small children can ride the water buffalo that cleans the front beach of resort with a tip for the owner of her.
Tip 2 Mrs Hung will wash 1kg washing for 20000 across the road to the front entrance. Highly recommend her
Overall you will be impressed with the high quality beautiful resort.

Had a wanderful stay at this hotel, we swam in the beach right out the front of the hotel in front of the pool, the pool area was perfect.. we had a suite with ocean views to die for...

Staff were very friendly and a special mention to Mr Nguyen Thanh at the front Reception whom went out of his way to be polite and help us when ever we needed... Thankyou

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing place to just chill out and relax..

Hoi An town is only a bus ride away which is a must see and espeically at night with all their lanterns a glow...

Getting clothes made in town was very easy as they make sure and go out of their way to work around your time and the quality is excellent...

The food was great in this hotel... lunch around the pool was also great staff were always at attentive to make sure you did want for anything...

Thankyou Sunrise Hotel for making our stay a very pleasant one, we had a great time...

Room Tip: Upgrade to a Suite it is well worth it...
