Nice enough beach to visit, and like most costal spots on holidays, they're full and busy with holiday makers and local vendors. Worth a visit but we preferred getting back in to town.

As you cross the bridge on the road leading from Hoi An into the Cua Dai beach area, there is what looks like a police box on the side of the road. In that box is a man in uniform who will wave a red and white striped truncheon and blow a whistle while telling you to get off your bike and use the bike park.

He is clearly pretending to be an official (and I've seen reviews from people who believe he is the police). But he's not a policemen, he's a very naughty boy, trying to scare people into thinking you must use that particular bike park.

Now, if you actually want to go to the section of beach nearest to there, then you probably will have to use either his or another bike park but the road continues for miles in both directions, so there is clearly no requirement for you to leave your bike there.

Just ignore him and carry on unless you actually want to dump your bike here.

I am well used in Vietnam to people running in front of my bike and begging me to use their bike park over someone else's, but this guy is just a total fraudster. Use someone else's bike park if you can.

Or even better, go east along the coast for a few minutes and use a bit of beach which isn't controlled by anyone and where you can take your bike anywhere you want. (Obviously no bars or restaurants with this option, but you could go in the other direction a few km to An Bang beach for a much nicer experience with food and drink available.)

We found this beach to be very clean. There are deck chairs available to hire if you don't have a meal. They are very comfy with umbrellas. It does get a little crowded in the afternoon but it is a long beach so just keep walking. We loved the fact that the locals bring around drinks to keep you cool. Seemed like a good beach for young families too.

World's best beach. No need for you to visit. I'd prefer that you leave it to me. Seriously, it has as much of a crowd as it needs. Thanks.

We went in the morning (to avoid the full heat of summer) and there was hardly anyone there. You pay next to nothing for a drink and get a cushioned deck chair under a large straw umbrella to use for however long you stay. I was pleasantly surprised by clear still waters which are super easy to float on, as I was expecting dirty waters only around Vietnam. Only annoyance is that people come up to you and try to sell you sunglasses, bangles, food, etc. There are shops everywhere in Vietnam!
