“Lovely beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

Beautiful stretch of well maintained beach. However coastal breezes can make it uncomfortable for sunbathing Dec/March, and swimming near impossible due to rough seas.

“Clean beach, beach vendors are a bit of a pain!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

The beach was very nice to cycle out to from Hoi An ancient town about a 15 minute trip. The water was clean and warm. The beach vendors were a hassle though. As soon as we got out of the water they was one lady who got everything out to show us and we ended up buying some thing just so she would leave! Maybe we should just pretend we are asleep next time!

“Long beach, big waves”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

I spent 2 weeks at a beach hotel (Palm Gardens) right on Cua Dai from 10th of january till 24th. This beach apparantly goes all the way from hoi an to da nang (30 km), and offers plenty of space.

The beach itself is covered with fine sand, with very few if any rocks. In 2 weeks, I did not come across a single rock.

At times the beach was closed with a red warning flag due to big waves. It is not easy to correctly estimate, but I'd say the waves peaked at 2-2,5 meters at the worst, and on the calmest days they were less than 1 meter. In addition to the waves, there was a modest current moving along the beach.
I wouldnt call this beach dangerous, but one should be a bit careful here.

Water temperature in january was comfortable, again hard to estimate, but I'd say around 22-23 degrees celsius at least.
Water clarity was not very good due to the constant waves.
Snorkling/diving here seems pointless (in january at least, I did not even bother to try.)

For fairly strong swimmers who enjoy swimming in waves, and for those who want a bit of space when they are on the beach, this is a good choice.

“Sun and Sand”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

The beach was fairly handy to our accommodation and the taxi fare to get there was very reasonable and the taxi waited around to take us back. Trip there and back showed us another side to Hoi An. Lovely sand and lots of surf for the swimmers in my group to enjoy. Did not mind paying a little to make use of the facilities provided by a nearby hotel--loungers, cushions, towels and toilets.Made a nice change from the hectic days sightseeing and shopping.

“Pretty to look at!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

But there is no way I would swim in there after swimming at the gorgeous beaches in Australia! The sand is a lovely colour but the colour of the water put me off a little bit!
